A. Not at all comfortable. I don't think Moore has what it takes, particularly arm strength wise. Romo looks fragile with that shoulder.

B. Nah, if Romo goes down we aren't going to win a Super Bowl, so might as well play rookies and see what they can turn into, and draft high again.

I'm not comfortable at all with it, but really who would you bring in? No vets are worth their cap hit. Personally I would try to add a rookie and see if we can develop him. **** the vet. Give the rookie all the second team reps. All of them. Develop him.

We can lose just as well with a rookie as we can with Cassell or Weeden. Besides, if Romo goes down for more than about 4 games, we are pretty well ****ed any way you slice it. Root for a high pick again next year.

maybe we can convince Fitzpatrick to go for the record of having played for every team in the league, so why not our turn be now? lol.....

The remainder of Tony Romo's career is a ticking time bomb.

This is the point in a sport star's career where his body begins to betray him. This is especially true when he is on the wrong side of 35 and attempting to come back from two injuries to the same body part.

Im not wishing it, dont want it, dread that day. But let's keep it real.

I saw it happen to Danny White and to Troy Aikman. The tragic part was listening to fans boo him during his last season.

Roger Staubach was the #1 rated quartetback a record tying 4 four seseons...including his last season in 1979. His sudden retirement was a shock bur few knew the number of concussions he had suffered.

If Tony Romo can make it through an entire season then this team needs to rally to him, it will probably be his last shot.

The Cowboys need to consider a viable, if temporary, veteran backup. Amd they need to acquire a potential long term answer whether that be with one of their first two picks or a lower pick with reasonable potential. Then they ned to do it again in the 2017 draft.

The Cowboys under Landry always had a viable future quarterback waiting in the wings. This group doesnt even realize they were supposed to look for one regardless of present circumstances.

If Romo is really able to play another five or six years as Jerry predicts, we may all live to be 100.

Such a statement reminds me of how I used to whistle while passing the cemetery as a little kid.

The line of thought, I think, is to have a backup who can win you a few games in a 5 or 6 game stretch. It's a given that if your starter goes down and you don't have a guy who can come in and be a starter, then your season is probably over. However, if your QB has an injury that is not season ending and you are good enough to compete for a playoff spot, then you want a guy who gives you a chance. That's the context I think, not if Romo goes down it's done. JMO

TBH, I don't see a viable backup qb out there that fits your description.

I don't know that we don't have that guy now. I think that there are guys who could do this job. I think that, in order to have a QB come in and win, the team first has to adapt to said QB and help him to win by putting together game plans that play to their strengths. What I saw last year was a team who hurt the backups more then they helped them in this regard. I am not as down on Weeden as everybody else is here. I don't believe he is a starting QB but I think he does have some skills and I think he could have won a few games for us had we put together a better game plan for him. I think the same for our other QBs. I know I am probably in the minority here but that's just how I saw it.

scale of 1-10. I'd say a 2.. I feel we have one of the best QBs in the league but being comfortable in him playing even 12 games this year I'd say a 4. Our back up QB situation I'd give it a 1 out of a 10

There are no qbs available who can get this team to the playoffs, including Romo. The offense is what needs to change. Drafting a qb who can run a more challenging offense, a offense that takes some shots downfield, accurately, is the best road to a bright future.

this team Is not going to the playoffs this year or anytime soon. so it really don't matter they will be lucky if they win 8 games. to many suspended players to many players who really don't care and a coaching staff and front office that is lost in the dark.

We have a 36-year-old quarterback coming off an injury-plagued year who the owner practically sees as a son and apparently is going to play for the next 4-5 years. Why shouldn't we be comfortable

I like Moore, because he's either going to come in and be unexpectedly awesome, or he's going to get us a top draft pick. Again. I'd be a lot less happy with a typical veteran quarterback who would come in and go 3-6.
