Ummm, because his college stats are equal or better than Murray's were. And his nfl numbers are every bit as good as Murray's when given the chance.

Demarco Murray was not Demarco Murray until his contract year. Randle has not even been given the opportunity to be Randle yet. Looking at the tape, Randle looks to be every bit as good as Murray, so why not? And I'm not a big Randle fan.

Because he's healthy primarily, he's got the freshest wheels that haven't fallen off, and he's Jerry's pet cat....

The only thing we know for sure about Randle right now is that he does very well with a highly limited # of carries. Whether that translates to star-studded performances in significantly more action or not remains a mystery at this point in time. It's also highly probable that he'll be afforded many more carries this year than last season. Barring the acquisition of a RB with elite qualifications, it's likely a certainty he'll be thoroughly tested in 2015. Hopefully, he won't live up to his own criticism of Murray and "leave some meat on the table."

It seems like everyone has forgotten this nugget from Jerry last season when Murray was still on the roster

“We’ve got one that if he carried that ball 20 times a game, I think he would have outstanding numbers in the 100-yard up area. That is Joseph Randle,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. “We’re really proud of his progress, what he’s doing. When he’s gotten the ball, he’s been impressive.

This board guffawed when Jerry Let Owens go and said that Austin would be a number 1.... Well he was right about Austin and lately he has been more right than he has been wrong. I hope he is right here also.

Austin had some great games, good years, but other then that he hasnt panned out....And comparing him to TO is a stretch by any measure.

in addition, we got robbed on that contract.

Seems like he'll be the starter and McFadden the 3rd down back

I've been saying this for a while - people look at McFadden's #s and think he sucks. However, one area that he is really good at is pass protection. I think that is the primary reason he is here - he replaces Murray's outstanding pass protection on passing plays.

I believe that, barring the unknown trade, Joseph Randle will in fact be our starting RB. To me it seems a no brainer, but lets see what McFadden has left and Williams brings.

(If you wonder why I accidentally left Dunbar out of the equation, its because it was no accident. Thinking he won't make the cut. Not sure why he still here now)

By default for 200, Alex

Can a daily double be behind 200?

Lol

And where are all these "signs" pointing to Randle?

Actually he replaces Murray's decent pass blocking. McFadden is actually a better pass blocker than murray.

Why do people doubt Randle? I would like some sincere, well thought answers- not because he's a doofus off the field.
Tons of idiots have made supremely successful NFL careers.
You question his endurance? Why? Just because he wasn't given the opportunity? Has he an injury history?
Is it talent? I would like to know what it is that any of you have seen that he is untalented.

Let's face it: This team isn't adding anyone this year (it could happen, but it's highly unlikely) that's going to put anyone's mind at rest.
What's wrong with going with Randle? If he shows in Camp and Preseason: what's the problem? Like he hasn't already shown capable during the Real Season... what's up?

Stealing undies too personal a feeling for some of you? Mikey Irvin snorted rails in limos with hooks and threw parties at the White House.
Degauss the moral compass people.

I'm interested to see what randle do With limited carries I thought he did a fine job
Now being the man is much tougher but not too concerned about his ability on the field. I think he will be fine
I am worried about him off the field because that's just as important as staying healthy. Both can keep you off the field
This is his chance to make a career for himself or destroy his future
Hopefully he has matured to the point he can take advantage of the situation he has before him

The conversations around here this offseason regarding the RB position remind me of the conversations around here last offseason regarding the defense, in a strange way. On paper, there was no way we could be equal to or better than what we were the previous year, in that area. It was an impossibility.

I think we'll be pleasantly surprised in how our running game pans out in 2015. The topic is already a dead horse at this point, so I'm truly content to sit back and watch. After seeing how things have progressed/evolved/developed with this squad over the last few years, I trust this FO staff.

I laughed. I laughed hard.

So you are diminished and I say unto you, let us hope for the best and, together, we can work it out.

Forum brothers and brothergals I feel like DMX a lone wolf on how misguided we be on our RB situation. We are headed like lemons over the cliff.

Jerra is like Mr. Jekyl and Mister Hide. He gift us a great O line and gift us runts from FA, the bench and from the Raiders, a well-known judge of talent.
Do not be decisived a great O line will open up holes for so-so runners and we end up with 900 yeards this year. Is that smart. No it is dumb.
I am just saying, again, the supreme truth.
