Acquired Pro-Bowler (s) paid off by winning the SB. If not, they would have been in trouble.
By employing a trade-for-established-players strategy, they haven’t actually selected a player in the first round since 2016. And with nearly all of their 2022 picks in the hands of other teams, the Rams won’t be able to restock the roster via the draft in April.
Yep, also:
1) No 1st and 4th Rd pick in 2023
2) CAP - $22M - 2023 and $46m - 2024
3) FA in 2024 - Kupp, Ackers, Jefferson, Higbee, Havenstein, Edwards, Evans, Robinson, Gaines, Hollins, Rapp.
4) Stafford still making $36m at 36 years old.
They have the decision in 2023, either break up the band (maybe get a couple of new musicians) and start again, or one last farewell tour followed by wilderness years.
We have taken a totally different approach, there isnt a right or wrong, just different approaches.....for consideration:
a) we did trade a 1st Rd Pick for Coop (universally applauded, but didnt work out).
b) Rams didnt go the Franchise QB route and build around him, they went get the team in place and the veteran (or lesser QB in the draft) will find you.
