How do you propose we fix the offensive line and entire defense if Dak gets paid?

last year still bothers me about dak. To not be able to win a weak division. To not be able to beat that depleted eagles team late in the year.

I mean cmon people does he really need an all pro player at every position to succeed?

If that’s the case you can’t sign him. Cause the talent around him won’t be as good when you do.

Zeke no shows vs good teams = an inconsistent running game couldn’t get us past 8-8. In a bad division. Of course Dak haters think he has to carry the entire offense.

I’m not a dak hater. I’m a realist. The qb gets the credit when you win the blame when you lose. It’s been like this for decades. why else is Eli a hall of famer with sub par regular seasons but two sbs.

the other qbs people compare dak to? Goff Ryan at least have been to a sb. Wentz? He was having an mvp season before being hurt.

what has dak won besides a two playoff games? Again with arguably more talent around him than a lot of quarterbacks.

If that is the plan I don't think it makes sense to pay Dak. Just be bad so you get a pick to draft his replacement.
I dont disagree with that line of thinking.

Just dont think Jerry will go that way.

Dont at all see him commiting to a rebuild. Thinks he has Aaron Rodgers.

We have this overlapping issue it seems where we wasted the prime of our offensive line with Dak, including the previous group of receivers that got tossed out as well because of Romo's situation.

Now we have all the young talented receivers you could ask for but in this time the oline has fallen apart and the defense has a bunch of brandon carrs at literally every position.

We know what Dak cant do with lesser receivers, we know what Dak still cant do with great receivers, how do we get a jump start to fixing this team within 1-2 seasons rather than hopefully building up over several seasons, by then losing whatever talent we had left at OL, RB, and possibly WR?

The offense is already stacked vs the defense in terms of cap space used, and there's no way we could expect better results on offense if those key talents are gone so what do we do?
How do you propose we fix the issues even if Dak doesn’t get paid? He wasn’t paid from 2016-2019 and the offensive line deteriorated while being the highest paid unit in the league and the defense has sucked and needed protection from the offense, which was being led by a QB making $1 million per year.

Whatever your reply is if it does not include Dak's contract extension [your wrong]
Dak gets his money. Im not saying right or wrong just Dak is getting his money.

More talent around him, not on D.

That still doesnt justify the argument that Dak should be paid what he wants. If he gets the 3 year contract (based on last years 4 year rumor) we have no money left to even retain what we've got (Aldon Smith, Lee, whole secondary bar Diggs).

As we've got a new HC let him choose the way, even if we have to accept a total reset and take a couple of years winding down the bad contracts and building in the way he wants.

For 25 years we've continually tried to "win now", it's failed, not even one NFCC game, try something new.

I don’t care if it justifies an argument to pay Dak. How do you fix the defense? It has sucked since Bill Parcels left and now all of a sudden people think paying Dak is the poison pill that will prevent us from having a good defense. Dak could take zero and this defense would still suck. We have no talent evaluators on that side of the ball.

It's the position we're in and it doesnt really matter moaning about it. The Defense (which has declined quite dramatically from the 2018-19) wont improve by paying Dak.

If we pay Dak what he wants for 3 years we just give up on Defense.

Ive got no problem with people supporting that position but it means just another 3 years of what we already have.

The resolution is with Dak and what he wants or what his priorities are.

I've said it before, that was a window of opportunity that the team threw away. And since we wanted to play that route I have no problem drafting a 1st round replacement every 4 years until we hit, but we must be aggressive keeping the oline strong and adding to the defense. We have the receivers for years to come.

Pay Dak or don’t pay Dak. The key is to quit wasting the resources that are spent on the defense. The guys we have now are all garbage. Any QB that comes here should get $40 million just to deal with it because they are going to have to play perfect and milk the clock for 10 minutes a drive to keep the bums off the field.

We have added to the defense and a QBs salary won't stop that. You have to quit drafting and/or paying for trash players. If you can't do that you can pay bare minimum for a QB and the defense won't ever change. Money isn't the issue.

Possibly did throw it away, however, in 2017 and 2018 we still had to Romo (3rd and 4th highest player on the roster).

The O-LIne is showing signs of injury and wear and tear, we still need to build depth.... whilst improving the depth.

We have recievers, however we'll possibly have to cut/trade Amari to allow us to extend Gallup.

I agree, however, we've restructured in such a way that we cant just get rid of the Defense we've got.

There has to be an honest appraisal that our Defense has been allowed to deteriorate (Quinn / B.Jones) and yes it doesnt matter who plays QB if we dont improve it.

Sadly it just may be time for Dallas to get a Top 12 draft pick position and use it on North Dakota State QB Trey Lance. The kid is 6' 4" and 226 pounds with a lot of athleticism and raw talent. His stats so far for his college career:

208 of 318 65.4% Comp. % 2,947 Yards 30 TD's 1 Int. 192 Rushes 1,325 Yards 18 TD's

Yep, people here like to rag on Wentz but for all his faults he led his team last week to a win throwing the ball to complete nobodies on offense.

Yeah and his defense recovered a fumble giving the him the ball on the 49'ers 42 yard line. Then on the next possession his defense gets a pick 6. They also didn't give up 40+ points. It definitely makes things a lot easier for a struggling offense when the defense steps up and helps out in those situations.

Ok lets look at this, you pay Dalton 20 mill a year, you go out and get a pretty good defense, your still getting bounced by the Seahawks and the Packers if you even beat the eagles............if you think Dalton is going to out duel any of those QB's your mistaken...Again in his best years with REALLY good defenses he couldn't win in the playoffs.

Name one other team in the league activley looking to downgrade at QB?

I would argue that Dalton is not a downgrade. But have it your way. You pay Dak and see how successful we are we will be in cap hell for the duration of his contract.
