If last night was the revelation then the process should start today for how they close the gap in future years this offseason.

To me #1 is get a new center and LT in the offseason. Biadasz is playoff caliber but not Super Bowl caliber.

Tyron is never healthy. He gotta go.

#2. Get an uncoversble WR or TE. Need a physical monster like a Dez, TO or Metcalf. CeeDee is nice but he’s never going to dominate good teams.

#3 get big bruising RB. That will help soften the defense

#4 Ask Micah what he needs on defense. It looks like we’d have everything we need physically on D. And we have a great DC. But they get bullied too often.
Close the gap? Really?!?!?!?! This gap has been WIDE for 27 years ! This franchise has not been to a single NFC Conference game in that time. Close the gap.....laughing

Take the quarterback position seriously and stop thinking it's a place for discount shopping.

We need Dak to do more of this. If he can't or won't, then we need to get a new QB. Start watching at 1:03.

As long as we are dreaming, how about let's get Diggs back. We cannot cover up Gilmore's limitations without Diggs. Gilmore cannot cover speedy WRs, but Diggs could. With Diggs gone Gilmore is a liability.

We need a bigger stronger DL. I am not saying Mazi is a bust. Maybe he helps in the future, but we need to guys like that on the inside.

We need to get meaner. The 49ers physicality last night was way more than Dallas's. If someone punches you in the mouth you either hit them back or expected to get punched again and again. When the 49ers play the Eagles watch what the Eagles OL and DL do to the 49ers.

I am starting to think I'd rather 3 legitimate LBs in the game than 2 and Kearse. Kearse is not getting it done and it is not just last night. Maybe Kearse is too worn down to be effective now.

On offense, there is little they can do now. Dak is Dak. He is not going to get any better than he is now. In fact, it looks like he has been regressing for years now. I am not recommending Cooper Rush, or Trey Lance. But I would recommend they do everything they can to prepare Lance to become their franchise QB someday. If Lance isn't the guy, then we have a problem that may last years. What is obvious is that Dak lacks accuracy and we saw last night what an accurate QB can do to a defense.

The 49ers are the class of the entire NFL.

It's just that simple.

"Close the gap"? Start by finding a Fred Warner and a Hafunga and a Purdy and a Kittle.

You slip through gaps... what we saw last night is more like a canal you drive tanker ships through.. yeah i know we are not that bad but I cant stand to see them roll over like they did.. like before the 1st quarter was over this team quit

Look, we had Troy Aikman and Tony Romo for a good 20 years after Jimmy left. We BARELY got to the Super Bowl and BARELY won it. We aren't winning anything ever again.

It would have been much better in the long run if Green Bay had represented the NFC that year. The refs really helped us out that game. And then I guess Neil Odonnell was betting against his own team. Either way, it wasn't good for us.

The coach and his staff have to go. McCarthy only won 1 single superbowl with Aaron Rogers.Pretty sure Rogers ran him out of town.
Think about that. One of the greatest QB's ever and that is all he could win. He is not the man for the Cowboys. He is old and left behind now.

When Diggs went down, there was a reason I couldn’t sleep for a week.

It’s more like a wide canyon we’re trying to close than a gap. The Cowboys are a long way off from the 49ers, and that was proven last night. They’ve moved further away from us.

If QB isn’t on your list everything else is useless.

There is a real GM. Will McClay. He’s much more qualified than John Lynch was for SF at the time.
but he has no power. he is director of scouting. the GM is responsible for culture of the team, their mindset, etc. Will McClay does not have any of those responsibilities. the GM decided to keep Garrett for 10 years. just hoping things turn around, refusing to see it for what it was. he is cycling through coaches. he forces OC on the head coach. twice.

We close the gap by needing another offseason.

This interior DL is fake. Scheme/personnel, it doesn’t work and it will continue to not work against teams average and above.

The offense needs a complete reset schematically

How does any of this address the QB issue ? We have a QB 1 who can't handle big games or the spotlight.

I agree on #1 and # 2. Especially #2... I think if we do what you lay out in #1 then #3 will get improved no matter who our backs are ... I am not sold on #4 because I am not sold MP wants to be here after his rookie deal.
