The 49ers are the class of the entire NFL.

It's just that simple.

"Close the gap"? Start by finding a Fred Warner and a Hafunga and a Purdy and a Kittle.
I've been watching SF games all season and I keep coming back to the thought that they are a really good team. This seems like its their year. I see a gap between them and even Philadelphia.

How does any of this address the QB issue ? We have a QB 1 who can't handle big games or the spotlight.

I agree on #1 and # 2. Especially #2... I think if we do what you lay out in #1 then #3 will get improved no matter who our backs are ... I am not sold on #4 because I am not sold MP wants to be here after his rookie deal.
I am not going to argue QB issues. but to ignore scheme issues and defensive issues is sticking your head in the sand. we complain about the offense bullying lesser teams and folding in big games. that's exactly what the defense has done. all talk. no walk.

If last night was the revelation then the process should start today for how they close the gap in future years this offseason.

To me #1 is get a new center and LT in the offseason. Biadasz is playoff caliber but not Super Bowl caliber.

Tyron is never healthy. He gotta go.

#2. Get an uncoversble WR or TE. Need a physical monster like a Dez, TO or Metcalf. CeeDee is nice but he’s never going to dominate good teams.

#3 get big bruising RB. That will help soften the defense

#4 Ask Micah what he needs on defense. It looks like we’d have everything we need physically on D. And we have a great DC. But they get bullied too often.
Draft DL's early and often. Nothing will matter until we fix the DLine.

That whole list and not one mention of QB?….

QB’s inspire a football team. Had Dak played well the D and everyone else would have played more inspired.
The QB talk litters every thread. Sometimes we like to discuss other aspects and problems.

You'd still have his son to deal with, and you know, them apples don't fall far from the tree right?
Hard to say. Stephanie doesn't appear to be in love w/ the mike like his pappy, and has openly declared that he will hire a GM when he takes over. If he's not lying, he could be the stand back owner we need.

Really? You going to put the time in to write all of that and not list the biggest issue we have on this team. The number one issue Dallas has to solve is the QB position. Until you do that everything else you listed is nothing more then a waste of time and talent
That is stating the obvious. There are other issues.

I hope you are correct

I agree on the scheme stuff, but we had a more aggressive vertical scheme and chose to move on for a more "safe" for our QB type of scheme. I wont disagree with you on the defense stuff... same page for the most part.

People said that last year too.....that is until Philly beat their azz last year as badly as we just got punked last week (and no, they didn't just "Luck Out" when Purdy got hurt....they hurt him by pounding him into the dirt like a punching bag and making their own luck)

Philly always plays SanFran good. SanFran always plays us good. We always play Philly good.

It's like the gub'ment where each branch cancells somebody else out.

When Jerry passes I dont think we will see many changes. Look at this kids, they are in their mid to late 50's right now and JJ could hang on another 10 years. By that age you are already set in your ways and dont care to rock the boat and try anything different when it's working so great the way it is now.

It has worked for JJ for what almost 35 years now. The kids have grown up watching dad take a 150 million investment and turn it into a 9 billion dollar empire.

Again for us the fans it's wanting a winning football team but for the family it's nothing more then an income producing business that continues to grow no matter what the football team does on the field.

Maybe Stephen will be open to bringing in a real GM. Guess we will find out soon enough. Jerry turns 81 in 4 days.
This is what I am hoping for as well. That Stephen and the family will be better without the shadow of their dad over their shoulder.

..I like the BIG bruiser RB idea. We could use someone like that.

But where do you find one? ;)..

After their dad is gone it will be 30+ years of no championships. At some point that will get very embarrassing for the family. The Lions will probably break their conference championship drought before us at this rate.

Chris Rodriguez, Zach Charbonnet, Lew Nichols III, even Tavion Thomas. There were several in this last draft.

The #1 problem is of course Jerry and his idiot boy.................but they are not going anywhere, so talking about that problem is moot.

So, what is the #1 problem we can fix?

New QB.................nothing matters until that happens.
