If I could find a cartoon that shows a hammer missing a nail, I would. Since I can't, I will just say, you missed the nail.

Excellent insight. I bring up legitimate points and you say.....well....nothing. Nice job!

LOL! Gosh some of the people around these forums are just plain stupid.

There is not a single one of you that takes your job so seriously that you'd spend days and days and days crying over something not going the way you hoped, or not being the best at your job on that given day.

Every single person who has a bad day at work goes home, drinks a beer, or water, or whatever anyone drinks, reflects on it a bit, relaxes, and then doesn't worry about it anymore. You start thinking about how to do better next time and you go on about your business.

But Tony? HA. THe guy doesn't take football as the measure of life and death and that makes him a bad person. That's hilarious.

What would truly be pathetic is if anyone who plays a sport looks at it as the ultimate measure of their lives. If winning and losing are the most important things that they ever have happen in their lives then they are truly the most pathetic.

It's a game and as nice as being a Superbowl champion would be if people measure their entire life, and what it's worth, based on that then they've got MAJOR issues.

If I scew up really bad at my job and I'm forced to attend a press conference afterwards, I'm not going to act like "tomorrow's another day and I'm still solid, plus my life has been good so who cares." I'm going to act like a professional who's messed up for the third year in a row.

I really wish we could take that contract back.

I had such high hopes for this guy. He SEEMED like someone who really cared, who was all about winning & the team. Boy did he fool everyone. All he cared about was getting paid & being a hollywood QB.

When he took that homeless guy to the movies he should have turned to him and said...

"You've had a rough life but look on the brightside, as many bad breaks as you've had at least you haven't lost two playoff games as the starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. Being homeless just can't compare to letting down a fanbase. After all, those were elimination games!"

That would have shown how dedicated to winning he is. It would have shown that he has life and football in the proper perspective. It would have shown his maturity as a player and a human being.

So what were you going to do in that PC that makes it sound better? You going to cry? Curse how bad you were? Tell the world that "By gawd I'll do better!"

What?

Seriously tell me what he could have said that would have made it better? Does he need to point out that he, among the rest of the team played bad? You really need someone to say that to you in order to figure out after watching them get beaten 44-6?

Does he need to tell the world, "I played bad", for the world to know that he knows he played bad?

I swear some of you people are so stupid it's sad. The guy doesn't need to come out and tell me he played bad for me to realise it. He doesn't need to come out and tell me the team stunk it up for me to know it. He doesn't need to come out and say they've got to do better for me to realise they do. Some things are just obvious and don't need to be stated.

And in this case, since he was asked how does he move on from here, what should he have said?

"Well I'll watch more and more film. I'll practice harder and harder. I'll lift a few more weights, and I'll pray to God a few more times."

Would that have some how been a better answer? What was he supposed to say? "Gosh I don't know how I go on from here. Maybe I'll go home and take some pills and drink a bunch of beer and try to kill myself cause I was so bad today."

Because he probably has ADD. My wife is a physician and studied his body language during his recent postgame PC's.

She's convinced he's ADD and is probably taking medication.

I too have concerns about TRomo moving this team forward, but what would you want him to say. He also said HE needs to get better etc.. Did you want him to say he's sucidal? The reality is, no one on this team works harder or trys harder. He's the end result of the internal breakdown of his team. This entire year they we're inconsistant. The internal bickering and constant MEDIA ****** trying to sell papers has destroyed this team. How do we fix it? I've seen the effective Romo and it's impressive. He's too good to be this bad. Fix the team crap and i Believe Romo will shine.

Tony Romo is the same guy who couldnt beat out Quincy Carter as a rookie... the same guy who played at Eastern Chicago! Why do ppl expect him to be a savior! Hes just another good player with something to prove like Deon Anderson!

Michael Irvin, Kevin Kiley and Nate Newton ripped Tony Romo for this.

All though he didn't say it directly, the aforementioned guys believed Tony Romo was basically saying that it was okay that they lost.

I have to admit, along with Michael Irvin and the gang, his comments are frustrating and extremely troubling.

Thank you. That is my point, along with you, Nate Newton, and Michael Irvin.

I agree.

Also, let me clarify. Mike and the gang didn't vicously rip Tony Romo, but they definately were troubled and extremely annoyed by his comments.

Further proof that there are mental issues with the guy. He looks borderline depressed this year.

"I’ve had a lot worse things happen to me than a loss in a sporting event, that’s for sure. If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, then I’ll have lived a pretty good life."

if he really said dat he needs to go
I think even Eli has realized his responsibilities as QB and has changed his attitude. He doesn't seem as dumb/clueless/timid as he used to and does talk a bit more confidently (though I guess that could also come w/ winning). As much as I hate the Giants and Eli Manning...he's made the big plays that have won big games when they've needed him to.

Tony Romo owes it to this organization, its history and its fans to change his attitude about how he see's a big key loss. This is 3 years now... If the worst thing that ever happens to Tony Romo is that he loses a football game then he's lived a good life. But how good will that life be when it's defined by failed opportunities?

i havent said it before because people will be upset by by what i think is going on with romo:

let me preface my comments by saying that i think, romo has lot of talent, i really believe that we can win a SB (or more than 1) with him if he has the right coach.

the reason is psychology 101

romo is not a natural leader, he has an inferiority complex, he himself does not believe that he can do it but he does not want to face that reality. this whole "aw shucks" persona, "its only a game" is his way of side stepping this issue. hence his whole "the interception was as good as a punt" comment and "if this is the worst that happens to me in life then I will have lived a great life" comments. he dosent want to be in a position where he knows he gave it his all and still failed, he always wants to have that "out" that I wasnt trying hard enough, that "this is just fun". if anyone has a MNF game recorded, look at the "team introduction" part, all the other players look straight into the camera, romo is looking around, not at the camera. he dosent believe in himself, how can others believe in him?

people like this respond to positive reinforcement and not to negative reinforcement ie the more you criticize them the more they go into a shell and become defensive about his faults. this is why he hangs his head when something negative happens, look at his whole body language. the more you "build them up" the better they will do. BP was perfect for him because he know how to press his buttons, give him just enough but keep his foot on the breaks as well.

to do his best, he needs teammates like witten who feed into that and believe in him, the last thing he needs is a teammate like TO who is a complainer. the problem is he is too much of a "wuss" to take on a strong personality like TO but internally he does not want to have to deal with him.

this is where a strong coach would be invaluable, to lay down the law and keep people like TO in line so romo's weakness (lack of leadership) is not as obvious. when the QB and coach dont provide leadership, someone will fill that void, unfortunately for us it is people like TO, crayton, james. unfortunately we are stuck with the pillsbury dough boy. he needs a "father figure" as a coach with "tough love" not a weak person like WP.

this is why he plays his best when it counts but not really, he played better early on when we were playing as a team. this is why i think it will be really difficult to win it all with the current cast of characters and the current coaching staff. we may win some games but when the chips are down, this stuff will show up and he will buckle under pressure unless he has the right team mates and the right coach.

just my .02

Excellent analysis! I agree on all points....I still believe in Romo and confident he will bring championships someday.....For now, all he needs is a good coach to work with him and he will shine...

I guess playing with injuries all year that got bad enough that he blacked out after the game don't count as caring? Or all the reports that he works as hard as anyone on the team? That doesn't count either?

So, we have him saying he's not suicidal after a loss and that his life will go on and all that means nothing and now he doesn't care?

We all know these guys have lives outside of football, and their lives will go on. Just don't come out and say that in a press conference 15 minutes after you get your *** handed to you.

Personally I don't have a problem with his attitude I think he puts life into the proper perspective. It is a game it is a job it is not the most important thing in life I would still say family comes before any and all other things. Romo puts in the work and time he wants to win he has not claimed himself to be a big time star others have done that he goes out and plays the game and lets the chips fall where they may
