How does this feel?

You could symbolize the Falcon loss by placing the trophy in Bryant's hand and watch Brady slowly unclasp each of his fingers and then slowly pull it out of his hands.

The game was over at any point after the 8 minutes left in the 3rd so long as the Falcons made a field goal. All they had to do when they had the ball on the Patriot 29 was run three times and not lose 10 yards. When they passed I thought they were crazy.

But then again, same is true for the Cowboys against the Packers.

I think you mean defense, bloke. Defence is what I try not to run into after drinking descotch.

Voluminous cranium, defence is the proper spelling in the English mother tongue.
Look it up. The first and preferred spelling among the better crowds, of which you are likely not given entree. Yes, look it up, entree not entry. I will be looking at your rudimentary English and commenting, so bone up on your parallel construction and syntax, scrub.:D

Dallas could have had Freeney, but passed on him, he played pretty good in playoffs.

Also no one can say how we would have done against atlanta, each game is different, and it depends on a lot of variables.
Dallas might have won , might have lost, same for if we played NE in SB, the whole game would be different from what we saw.

Really? Freeney had one sack last night and it was his first since October. He totaled 3 sacks for the entire regular season. That's one sack more than Orlando Scandrick had. The rueage over not signing Freeney has been laughable.

I think you're following the wrong football. Pretentious much?

I think the fact he was a pretty cheap signing and that he had to be accounted for due to his reputation helped free up some others to the QB resulting in pressures and sacks. Jarrett had 3 sacks on Brady yesterday and some of that could have been due to NE having to account for Freeney.

I'd be livid if that were us.

Run the ball late, take the 3, hoist the trophy and watch Tom Brady's tears.

Falcons got a bit too cute late. We got cute against GB. Ends up is losses.

that pretty much covers it. Blows my mind how the Falcons screwed up. I'm experiencing shadenfreude that it happened to them and not us.

Yeah, I'm sure that's what it was. Freeney's 3 sacks were that horrifying to the Patriots.

Freeney had a sack yesterday and contributed to the Falcon's building a 28-3 lead. It was the strip sack of Ryan that changed the tide in that game. Once the Pats got new life and Brady got hot, there was nothing stopping them.

Really insightful stuff that has nothing to do with us passing up on a washed up has been. Great read.

Freeney's 3 regular season sacks would have put him 3 sacks behind Mayowa who led us in sacks. Say what you will but he would have provided some help and wouldn't have cost us much. What he provided in Atlanta wasn't bad for a player who only had one start. A big part of our scheme is rotating players and Freeney would have helped in that area especially with DLaw being suspended the first 4 games and being ineffective when he returned. Gregory being gone for 14 games would have increased Frenney's value. I provide insight while you provide a waste of time for anyone who reads your posts.

The point of this post is that I am curious to ask some of the old timers here, how does this feel? I couldn't imagine how a Falcons fan might feel right now. I scrolled a Falcons message board and I was saddened just thinking about how I would've felt if I was a Falcons fan. Do you eventually get that "at least we were here" feeling of partial gratification or is this the kind of thing that sticks with you? If Dak/Zeke are lucky enough to lead us to a Super Bowl next year against the Patriots...should I rent out a hotel room and watch this one by myself just in case?

The football fan in me feels bad for the Falcons fan tonight. As far as being a fan, would you rather lose a Super Bowl in the fashion of how the Falcons did tonight or lose how we did?

Your first question, it hurts. It hurts real bad. Good thing is back in those days, you could basically bring back the same team and do it all over again. Now, you literally cannot. As for the feeling of gratification that we at least got there, that was not part of the culture. Back in 1976, many felt that team was lucky. But that game still hurt to lose.

I can honestly say that all of Dallas' SB losses aside from the Colts game, were not cases where we were beaten by an inferior team.

Good questions and a good thread.

My thing is that if you want to know how it felt, it feels this way each time we are won and done. It is awful.

That wasn't insight it was a waste of time. The guy had ONE start and provided 3 sacks. Your babble about a washed up has been is just that: babble. Run along, now.

I'm not babbling about Freeney just pointing out the facts, something you don't deal in. The only one who's babbling is you. He had 2 more sacks than DLaw who started 3 games. His 3 sacks bettered Gregory's career high. You need to run along.

I already stated my facts, Mr. Wizard. It doesn't surprise me that you don't possess the cognitive ability to discern them. Freeney had one more sack than Orlando Scandrick who happened to miss 4 games. Oddly, Scandrick was hired to play CB and not really, you know, rush the QB. Freeney, on the other hand, was hired specifically to rush QBs and by that standard, he was an epic failure.

We got the same production from Jack Crawford. Who you might say? Exactly. He was matched by a nobody. you bore me. Off you go, now.

You don't state anything you just blow hot air. Scandrick had a couple of free runs at the QB on a blitz and had one more sack than DLaw who was drafted to produce sacks. DLaw is looking like another wasted #2 pick. It's not all about sacks and during the SB telecast Aikman and Buck talked about what a good addition Freeney has been for Atlanta but you think you know better? He had SB experience and provided help to the young players. He would have helped our rotation which is a big part of what we do defensively and could have helped some of our young players like Irving. This article slams your claims about Freeney. See if you can find anything to back up your opinion of him or go away because you're coming away with more egg on your face with every post.

There only one fact to consider, Einstein: 3 sacks. Go find something else to do. You look stupid.

I will be 31 in about two months.

My second earliest memory would be the 1993 NFC Championship. I remember it like it was yesterday, watching the game with my Grandfather, Uncle and Father. Only myself and my father are left now so it is a very special memory. For the next few years, I had a lot to brag about in elementary school though not much afterwards.

Obviously I have been through many stages of my life since the glory days but my love for the Cowboys has never wavered. Now that I am married, have a good career and I am soon to have a kid, I feel that I am more attached to this team as ever. I can handle a regular season loss because I am a optimist at heart and I know that it's a long season but during the first half of the Cowboys/Packers game, my wife saw a side of me that she has never seen.

I was angry and my hopes were crushed, I literally felt the life being taken out of me during that first half. I don't think she was very happy with my actions or language for that short time span. Eventually I recovered and by the end of the game, I was fine and I was posting on Cowboys message boards like I have since I was 17 years old as my normal, optimistic self. I blamed my actions in the first half mainly on my disappointment in how unprepared our team looked. Once they started playing right, I calmed down for the remainder of the game.

The point of this post is that I am curious to ask some of the old timers here, how does this feel? I couldn't imagine how a Falcons fan might feel right now. I scrolled a Falcons message board and I was saddened just thinking about how I would've felt if I was a Falcons fan. This would be a crushing loss. They gave away a world championship. Brutal.

Still better to get there though.
Idgit bloke, a loss like that would top Jackie dropping the ball and us giving way at the end zone at the Ice Bowl.
Brutal.
I feel the Falcons' pain.
