I expect mental mistakes, it's been happening with the teams when Romo was here. Everything was a circus regardless of his performance. I still had hope we could get to the playoffs and that the offense could carry. With Dak I feel like everything (scheme+OLine) has to be damn near perfect because I know the coaches aren't going to help in critical situations, although the overall team is better. They still commit the little mistakes and as long as the offensive scheme is working we may be fine. So yes I expect us to lose every game against a decent team, I expect the coaches to continue to stick with underperforming players like LVE, Smith, Awuzie, and Maher. I can't just enjoy a win because I'm already looking at what excuses will present itself the following week. And considering all of this I can just see us enter a point of no return if Dak gets paid and the next coach has to correct these mistakes, but is forced to use certain players because of questionable decisions from management prior. We think it's bad now,
I can easily see it getting a lot worse going forward, regardless of the HC, if we're not careful. One of the best things we have going into next season if a new HC is happening is that Dak, Cooper, the secondary, and the interior DL are not locked up under fat contracts. Utilize that franchise tag if you have to and really make strong decisions about players currently on the team if they really are contributing at a level they need to. Stop being emotionally attached in this country club and break it down if you have to set the ship right. If we get a new HC he'll have more options on how to approach correcting this team than being stuck with a locked down roster in cap hell.
I still watch every game, but the Patriots game for the most part was exactly how I pictured it. The problems get exposed and playing worse teams only makes certain people forget about these issues, delaying what needs to be done. My moment of lost hope for Garrett was mid season 2014 with some of those weak losses, with what transpired in critical situations. He only iced the cake with everything that was done going into the playoffs and what happened. Then 2015 happened and even with all those scrub QBs I felt coaching prevented us from being 8-8. 4 years later and we're still talking about this...
