c'mon, you and I both know where you're going with this is the same route you always go, back to TO

WV Cowboy said:What team was it last year that the QB and a WR had a fued going and stuff, ... can't recall the team exactly.
Anyway, they had a real fallingout and it made the news and everything.
Who was that WR, and is he still with the same team ?
If not what team was stupid enough to pick him up ?

The Eagles issues stemmed from one player and his inability to perform. That player was McNabb, not TO... Was TO a distraction sure, but having an ineffective commander piloting your ship will always led to mutiny and disaster...Phoenix-Talon said:As an Eagle fan, I can tell you that chemistry ...or the lack thereof, can be the kiss of death to a football franchise.
That said, the compilation of players whose combined efforts are collaborated for the purpose of winning on a field of competition can be greatly thwarted by external (media) and internal entities (disruptive players).
Many believe that unlike Andy Reid, Bill Parcells purportedly runs a tight ship. Perhaps. That could be demonstrated in 2006 keeping certain volitile players under control. Believe me you, history has shown that if player disruptive behavior is not identified in their respective contracts, it should be.
Bottom line is that team chemistry is a crucial element to a successful team. But how important. What about ...
QB in the Huddle (one voice concept)
QB & WR
WR & WR
QB & OL
QB & C
RB & OL
What about Coach & individual (not collectively) chemistry/relationships?
How critical is it to have a team unscaved by a nuisance media reporter/sports writer who writes derrogatory about every little team-related occurence.
Discussion:
The Eagles managed to get a boatload of bad Publicity last year. While injuries took their toll, many believe that bad press (the soap opera) and chemisty gone bad created situations detrimental to the success of the team. I indorse that sentiment.
I think the Eagles versus Cowboys games (both of them) is going to be a "media circus." I don't think that's going to be good for either team; perhaps a bit more for the Cowboys since the expectation is that the Cowboys will trounce the Eagles.
Since this is the 1st year that the new Touchdown celebration rule will go into effect, all eyes will be focused on those players who traditionally make it a point to creatively "do their thing" in the endzone. Fines, suspensions, yardage penalties and media frenzy is on the menu.
I know how to handle flames, can't we just stick with some football discussion ...your thoughts on this coming Training camp/regular season.
AsthmaField said:Hey PT... like a few people on here have already mentioned... Larry Allen grabbed Cortez's facemask because he was blaming the holder for him missing the kick instead of taking the blame himself. Nobody likes that, and team mates of the holder get pissed about that.
What you saw was Larry Allen preserving team chemistry. That served to strengthen the team chemistry because it was one player sticking up for another. That made the team chemistry even stronger than it was before and I would think it would happen on any team that had good chemistry.
Interesting twist AsthmaField ...I get your logic.
Bad chemistry would have simply let Jose continue to blame someone else for his miss. That could've festered and become a problem. What happened should've happened and only helped the team chemistry.
Jose was on the outside looking in as far as camaradarie goes and after that, Larry Allen and Romo (the holder) were probably closer. It was a good thing
If Cortez got jacked-up for cating the blame ...what's going to happen if TO starts jaw-jacking to Bledsoe about not getting enough touches. It's easy to say TO will get balls thrown to him consistently ...but then you're not on the opponent's defensive squad.

idk why some people didn't understand where he was going with this, with PT, it's always about how TO ruined the Eagles and how we should watch out, and all these posts related to chemistry, some actually thought that was a legit question and answer from PT :laugh1:

Hopefully the same thing that happened when Bledsoe and Keyshawn argued last year. They talked-out their disagreement like men and it was never a factor again (despite what the media may have hoped for).
Bledsoe didn't hide behind his head coach and let anyone else fight his battles for him.
He stood up for himself like a man.
And if it happens with Owens, Bledsoe will deal with him the same way - unlike a certain other quarterback.....

And the real Problem with the Eagles last year!stasheroo said:And if it happens with Owens, Bledsoe will deal with him the same way - unlike a certain other quarterback.....
Phoenix-Talon said:Really?
First, let's step back from the Eagles for just a post or two. I realize that it may be somewhat intimidating for you to have a dialogue with an Eagles fan, but for now we're just speaking NFL ...that's the first step toward knowing where I'm going with this thread.
Here's a roadmap to where I was going with my thread ...
Running backs, for example have a stronger need for chemistry with their OL than they do with most other positions on the offensive squad.
I can't recall what Team it was last year, but I do know that it was a kicker who just happened to miss a very important kick was humiliated By his own team Player when he was grabbed by the facemask and shoved backwards violently. No penalty (there should have been), no fines, and the kicker was probably harder on himself than that player who took it upon himself to admonish the kicker for missing what he considered an automatic field goal.
That's the type of incident that I feel starts to show a team's frustration and true chemistry. A stronger team would have rallied to the kicker to assure him that we still can win, or at least we gave it our best shot, etc.
I sure wish someone knew what I was talking about on that kicker that was insulted by his own teammate.

Sensible response ...one of which I do not necessarily agree with; sensible Nontheless.

You mean quaterbacks ...plural -- he's got two notches under his belt.
Phoenix-Talon said:Wait ...you or no one thus far on this thread has "got" anything! Everyone but some of you guys are aware of how thread morph into different perspectives as a result of someone having there own opinions, responses to questions and just straight good dialogue that may/may Not necessarily transend in a different direction than what was Initially intended. Come on use some smarts here. I'm Not going to defend every word in my Posts for the sake of convincing anyone that I did or did not have an ulterior motive behind my thread.
If you think you've got a "gotcha" situation ...ok! But that's not authentic! I don't expect too many (some will) to check out the Headlines on Philly.com's MB, but the subject dealt with having Team Chemstry. I wanted to get some opinions here before I chatted with my fandom. Perhaps I was hasty to think I could get some solid dialogue without a conspiracy tag.
