You know what? AT least with you, I can get a sensible discussion ...unlike with "others." Some want to straight make direct personal accusations that they shouldn't (One day Alice ....Pow, right In the kisser: Jackie Gleason quote from the Honeymooners).
Anyway, like you said ...back on topic, I fear that there will be some residue from the Owens era, but I don't think it will seep into the lockerroom nor have an impact on the team. Emotions will certainly rise during both the Eagles versus Cowboys games.
Poetic justice demands a split in those to games, however, one team could walk away serving the cold soup! You will not see the same agles team you did in 2005!
You're well aware of my opinion of McNabb so I won't go into it again here.
That said, I think some of what Owens said with regard to McNabb is true.
I've seen for myself he can't handle adversity - either on or off the field.
And I think the Owens fiasco illustrated a rift in the Eagles team between McNabb and his teammates.
The action of players choosing sides in the whole mess spoke volumes to me. If Owens was entirely to blame, the entire team would have rallied around McNabb - and I never saw that happen. I think Eagles' players see Donovan as a "company man" who can't be trusted.
I think a rift still exists between McNabb and his teammates that will carry on into this season and beyond.
But that's just my opinion, and we'll have to wait for the season to find out.
