He is good for returns and sweeps. But dropped what would have been a much appreciated 1st down. It hit him right in the chest. About 6 yards away. He has so much speed he could be dangerous if he had the hands. Send him on go routes.

I think he is a change of pace guy that’s needed for an offense that lacks speed. As a returner he is a stud. Important piece.

Use him on WR screens with Ferg and Sconemaker leading the way.

That was 1 pass. Not plural.
Yeah but unless you're one of the main guys if you drop the first one it will also be the last one most of the time. He's got to catch the ball to earn Dak and Big Mac's trust to come back to him.

His speed will get him involved in some offensive plays, we are just warming up the engines, this team is not slow, we do have some speed.

I have to ask this question because I don't believe most are realizing that Turp will be carving out more time in offensive sets.
He has already proven how dangerous he can be in just a bit of space.
He is a quality talent. Now, it is how numbers on all plays integrate on the players/team play action.

There are way too many penalties from off focus players, plane and simply, getting lazy.

I'm always waiting for the holding call on long returns.

It hurts him that CeeDee is so good at jet sweeps, which would seem to be made for Turpin.
It benefits both edges of the offensive field my friend.
This offense has just verily shown anything just yet.

Agree. Even as a decoy out there he is going to draw attention.

Just keeping it simple, as of right now we have the ability to run a jet sweep to either side with CD and Turp, just keeping it super simple here.
Just wait until defensive opponents are leaning on their ankles all at once to one side or the other, lol
I rarely LOL, but this will become comical, this offense doesn't have enough speed...lmao

Its an issue he had going back to last year though. He was tied for 4th on the team in drops with Gallup and Pollard despite only getting 18 targets all season. Its certainly not over for him yet, but I imagine he is running out of opportunities to get on the field with the offense.

yeah, saw that. he is not going to get many opportunities, and when he does he has to cash in. he dropped that one.....I think he could be good from the slot much like Cole beasley....

Other than the jet sweep I'm just not sure that he is though, and even with those the Cowboys haven't had a whole lot of success with aside from his long run against New England last season. The majority of his catches in his career have been short passes that were designed to get him open. He ran 102 routes last year and caught just 3 passes over 10 yards. It would be huge if he can develop into a better receiver, but until he shows he is capable no way is a DC going to pay much attention to Turpin. He is yet to show that he can hang onto the ball, or create separation with his routes. Hes no different to a defense than if John Ross were out there.

He is the 4th or 5th receiving option when he is on offense. That isn't likely to change as the season progresses. He just needs to play that role well and be a consistent return man.
No that's the problem he could be utilized like a savior worthy and if we don't do it that's on the coaches he should be the wide receiver 3 until Mr. tolbert learns how to be a receiver in the NFL 'cause all that hype I heard in the offseason, at least for one game I would make an extra effort to make Turpin wide receiver 3 until he proves he can't do it and yes he had the one drop but it was game one with virtually no preseason and I've seen worse from bigger names in the first games...

So my opinion he's important to this team if he was with Andy Reid's offense they'd make him a weapon they should do that here and that includes deuce Vaughn I'm gonna put his name in there I don't think Mike McCarthy understands how to use them in an offense... He didn't get enough targets last year so Turpin should get more and more and more until he shows that he's not good enough to be the wide receiver 3... And then October shows something great if he doesn't then it might be time to move up the guy I can't ever spell his name right in Florenay although we never seen him in a real game.
