agree, it is a very QB dependent game . Great coaches cannot get a SB without elite QBs anymore. i think jerry will start to realize what he has in dak this year. eating 59 mil in cap money will be tough for jerry .Andy Reid was run out of Philly because Donovan McNabb began to decline, and Michael Vick wasn’t the answer. He’s on top of the world in KC now because of Patrick Mahomes. Belichick hasn’t won anything since Brady left New England, and probably never will again. A QB makes or breaks a head coach. If the Cowboys take a step back this season, that’s probably going to be the end of McCarthy with the Cowboys and could spell the beginning of the end for Dak.
I say after we win the Super Bowl this year he can stay around as long as he’d likeI personally dont like change for change sake. Now that Reid has wona couple of titles since he has his wonderboy, everyone declares him a master... yet he was ran out of philly.
So here is a list of the drought for each team:
17 teams have gone longer than the Cowboys without a title and 25 of the 32 teams have gone 10 years or more without a title. So it begs the question. How long does a coach get to win a title before he should be booted? A coach that has a team in the playoffs consistently doesnt forget how to coach. How many years has the great Sean Peyton been coaching? yet he only has one title.
So how many years should Mike get before he is fired? or any coach for that matter?
McCarthy went 6-10 his first year which was COVID restricted so he had to try and implement a new system virtually. He followed that up with back to back 12-5 seasons. He’s not perfect but as long as he keeps giving us a chance most years, I think he’s earned some leash. Do you guys even remember the Garrett years? No adjustments. No being able to handle an offensive lineman getting hurt mid game. I think Big Mike has done an outstanding job in his 3 years here.I personally dont like change for change sake. Now that Reid has wona couple of titles since he has his wonderboy, everyone declares him a master... yet he was ran out of philly.

actually it says SB DROUGHT.... meaning how many years without a title. So those teams have gone X years without a title. The thread and table are accurate. The table includes the following as not since their LAST title but from their 'Joined NFL' date reference:
The table should not include those particular franchises for their length of drought if the criteria is 'since their LAST title'.
- Vikings
- Chargers
- Titans
- Falcons
- Bengals
- Jaguars
- Panthers
- Texans
yep, I dont agree. I clearly said here is the list of THE DROUGHT FOR EACH TEAM.Yep but I am not sure the thread creator would agree.
I have made this argument more than 50 times in here.I didn’t miss your comment. I’m just explaining to those why he got run out of Philly. Sean Payton got burned out in New Orleans after Drew Brees retired. A head coaches fate rests on the arm of their QB.
I didnt sugar coat anything. I stated FACTS and the facts detract from all of your arguments... thats why you dont like facts. Far too many of you are still living in the glory days of the non salary cap years. Different world.Yea, the OP tried to sugar coat our futility this era. Whatever makes them feel better.
But this franchise once was held in the same category as the most successful franchises on the field not the lower half. It is what it is.
This isn’t the same franchise most of us grew up with. Only in name.
I can only think of two head coaches that had Hall of Fame coaching careers that didn’t have a Hall of Fame QB and that was Bill Parcells and Joe Gibbs. They won 5 Super Bowls between them and none of their QBs are in the Hall of Fame.agree, it is a very QB dependent game . Great coaches cannot get a SB without elite QBs anymore. i think jerry will start to realize what he has in dak this year. eating 59 mil in cap money will be tough for jerry .
yep.... and gibbs won with THREE different qbs. That will likely never happen again.I can only think of two head coaches that had Hall of Fame coaching careers that didn’t have a Hall of Fame QB and that was Bill Parcells and Joe Gibbs. They won 5 Super Bowls between them and none of their QBs are in the Hall of Fame.
Legit concern.MM will continue to be here as long as we keep making the playoffs. My fear is we will lose Quinn first, then MM will have a down year and he will be gone after.
Not Jerry,Legit concern.
Hopefully Jerry keeps showing Quinn the money.....
Jerry has faults, but he will usually pay for quality. Not Jerry,
Hes cheap, remember?
And the facts reveal this isn’t a championship caliber franchise any longer . The fact we have to compare ourselves to the bottom half of the league to prop us up speaks volumes.I didnt sugar coat anything. I stated FACTS and the facts detract from all of your arguments... thats why you dont like facts. Far too many of you are still living in the glory days of the non salary cap years. Different world.
Tom Flores recently inducted HOF won 2 SB’s without a HOF QB. Not yet anyway . ( Plunkett)I can only think of two head coaches that had Hall of Fame coaching careers that didn’t have a Hall of Fame QB and that was Bill Parcells and Joe Gibbs. They won 5 Super Bowls between them and none of their QBs are in the Hall of Fame.
Totally agree !!Right now, I don't see a better alternative. Do you?
I'd like Kyle Shanahan, but he's not moving. Perhaps Lincoln Riley?
