50 years old . Been watching since the '77 Super Bowl. I feel like we'll never get back to where we were as long as we don't have a real football guy making the decisions. At least we seem to be making some better moves of late now that all the decisions aren't being made by Mr. Show Me on TV/Listen to me mumble and stumble trying to sound like I have a football clue Jerry talk. As to drafting Elliott I would not hate it but you have to address the QB position at some point and not just by throwing darts at the dartboard by taking a flyer on a project in rounds 4-7.(que the Brady/Romo/Warner comments). The majority of starting QBs in the league are drafted early. I'm in the QB in round 1 camp.(putting my jersey down on the ground so Wentz can walk on it as he gets off the donkey and walks in to Valley Ranch). The preceding message was quoted from the Book of Risen Star chapter 4 verse 28 line 4 which reads" a great silence enveloped the land as a man spoketh out "With the 4th pick, the Dallas Cowboys select Carson Wentz, Quarterback, North Dakota State." And the angels and heavens did sing and rejoice " And the people did rejoice except for a small group of heretics in the crowd garbed in blue and red garments with the marks "10" and "13" on them and a larger group of afflicted persons wearing green and chanting some some hateful sounds of "J.E.T.S". Ahmen.

This is a very serious question, all jokes aside!

I have been with this site for 12+ years I believe. For Christ sake my own flesh and blood was drafted here(Kevin Burnett) and I have been a Boyz fans since I can remember.

I remember 1985 when Drew Pearson came on my street in LA visiting whomever. I do remember getting his autograph and catching every pass that came my way. How do I remember it was 1985? Because I lived in that apartment my 5th grade year only. That's how!

I have my own agenda. But my agenda has always been in favor of the Cowboys.

Quick story- 1996- we just won the SB, I told my uncle we will draft Randy Moss! He said "Dean, you crazy, y'all won't be drafting high enough to get Moss!"

2 years later we pass on Moss. HOF'er.

I have my own agenda and that is to draft Zeke.

If you guys go back and look at my post since 2003, maybe 2004- I forget. It has always been drafting a RB(not Felix Jones a career backup in college). We finally had a RB, He gained 1800+ yards, we go 12-4, and basically one play away for a chance at the SB against Seattle, we let him go 4-12 (granted Romo and Dez got hurt)...

This is my pitch to grab Zeke at #4.....
I can go on and on why we should draft Zeke @ 4 but I will let you guys chime in....

This will be year 38 as a diehard boys fan. I'm with ya on Zeke not sure it will happen anymore but that is my guy. As Jobber said...I am holding steady at 39 years of age!

I am 51 yrs old. First Cowboys game I remember was the 1975 NFC divisional game in Minn. where Roger threw the Hail Mary to Drew.

I remember watching the game that sold me on becoming a life long Cowboys fanatic... Super Bowl IV. Nine days before my 6th birthday. I made a football field with my Legos and used that to keep track of ball position, down and distance... my dad was impressed.

So... OP, you got an agenda? Zeke, ain't in the cards, my friend. Sorry to burst your bubble but that's the reality of it. Will McClay will wield his influence in the FO by talking the Joneses into drafting Wentz with the 4th overall pick. Zeke will go shortly after that to Philly... maybe a stretch. But don't be sad... in the next decade, Wentz will lead our Boys to 3 more SB victories. :starspin:

19710 days here, earliest memories of the Cowboys:

Great memories:

  • The Hail Mary pass, met Drew last year, great guy
  • Clint Longley Thanksgiving pass to win the game another Drew catch
  • Harvey Martin throwing wreath in the Skins locker room, the Commanders had sent Martin a wreath earlier in the week, figuring the Cowboys were as good as dead. Martin burst in and flung the wreath into the Commanders locker room. Martin felt vindicated; his Cowboys were heading to the NFC playoffs while the Commanders were simply heading home.
  • Smith's unbelievable performance against the Giants with a busted shoulder.
  • TD's 99 1/2 yard run on Monday night.
  • Watching Hollywood Henderson, was fun while it lasted.
  • Doomsday I & II, they are coming to DC this weekend! (George Andrie, Larry Cole, John Dutton, Ed Too Tall Jones, Bob Lilly, Randy White)

Bad Memories:

  • The Colts kick to win the SB with 5 seconds left.
  • Lynn Swans catch in the SB
  • Jackie Smith not holding on to the TD catch.
  • The Catch, stupid Clark.
  • The Seattle playoff game fumbled snap and Romo trying to get in the EZ.
Been a long ride with the Boys, that has not been the same since I was spoiled from when I first started watching them.

But still my Boys.

I'm sticking with Jack Benny (Who?) and the 39 years old.
I did watch Eddie LeBaron and Don Meredith's first games with the Cowboys though.
I do believe Amos Marsh was the RB that first year too.

Didn't realize how many old farts there are here

Haha, I didn't either!

I'm 29. First game I ever watched was Super Bowl XXVIII. By SBXXX, I was 9 years old and had watched the Cowboys win the Super Bowl twice. I thought that was "normal".

20 years later, well.....

I would imagine the vast majority of the members here are over 37.

We have sucked for basically 20+ years, don't think there are very many people that started following the Cowboys during this losing stretch. There are not bandwagon fans left, all you got is the old timers here.;)

This is the scary part. If the Cowboys continue the path they are on now we will be the Raiders to many young football fans. I'm 30 I can remember Aikman's rookie season ( I was 5). I am at that age where I grew up knowing Super Bowls. I am scared for my kid as he may not get to grow up with the Cowboys being a successful team. PLEASE JERRY AND STEPHEN TURN THIS SHIP AROUND!!! Give my baby boy a reason to cheer for the Cowboys and not the Packers (I'm from and live in Wisconsin)
