How many run attempts will Deuce Deuce get per game?

I know it's way too early to tell, but I just checked his stats from last season and he had 293 rush attempts (averaged 20 carries per game for 5.3 yards per rush), which really surprised me.

I initially thought he'd get maybe 4 to 6 carries a game, if that, and be more of a gadget player. But it seems like he can carry a much larger load if needed.

Pollard shouldn't get more than 20 carries a game imo. There's probably 12-20 more that will be needed if this offense does become a "run first" identity.

What's your expectation for Deuce Vaughn?
first jones is the # 2 back, and lukey the fb is another.
So no way to know until games start.
It will also depend on how the rb's look in pre season games.
That is where duece needs to show something.

I don’t see him getting a lot of running attempts, but we may try some wildcat stuff with him. The Cowboys are bound to come up with a few gadget plays for him to give him some space to maneuver.

Pollard ran a 4.52
No, no and no. Do your research. He had food poisoning at the combine but still ran a 4.52.

Ran a 4.38 at his pro day.

Vaughn did nothing ay the combine and ran once at his pro day. Mid 4.5 range.

If a guy is fast, he'll run whenever and wherever. You think his dad, the scout, wasnt walking him through this whole process? They knew he wouldnt run well. And proved it with his one attempt at pro day.

Slow 40, historically small. Its not some big mystery why he was headed to UDFA until team nepotism stepped in.

I think you give Pollard his twenty and split the rest between two guys so you've always got an extra man ready if Injury hits.
As the season progresses let the cream rise to the top.

Oct 2, 2022. The join date when all the eagle fans raided this forum ........ Funny you mentioned Jalen Carter as well.
Watch Jalen Carter end up being the bust. (And I think he's the most talented player in the draft but the off the field red flags make him a big gamble)

that's fine, and i still did say that deuce is slippery, problem is the size difference might end up being a limiting factor - again, i really hope this kid pans out but the odds are not on his side from the measurement POV. If you are going to be small (very small) comparitivly then you have to be really fast and I don't know if he is that at the NFL level - certainly looked it at the college level but you and i both know its a different game entirely.

At the end of the day, i hope he becomes a darren sproles type of player for us but the odds are that hes probably not going to be...again, hoping for the best but not expecting anything here

He needs to make the team first....then be active on gameday.

I sort of view him as a change of pace. Initially I view him when we go up tempo. If he has trouble blocking this could limit this. But I think when we go high tempo and move him around and try to get him lost is where he will be most effective.

Jalen crater belongs in prison. A kid 20 years old exact same circumstance as carter was convicted of vehicular homicide and sentenced to 20 years. That’s here is iowa. Most places drag racing that results in a death is a crime. Apparently not I’m Georgia when your a football hero

Do your research

Although he didn't get an official time in the 40, observers had him clocked under 4.5 seconds in his only try. Vaughn had an ear infection and 101.5 temperature earlier in the week and was concerned at one point that he wouldn't be ready to participate in the pro day.

"I only ran one (40) because I didn't want to gas myself, because I knew I had a lot on my plate today," he said.

never have I seen so many afraid of a tiny dudes success. My gosh.
Even at 5'5 I would take him over Zeke (current Zeke) any day of the week. Zeke can have his moments but he's also good for getting stuffed on numerous occasions. Now, if the cowboy were specifically looking for a blocker/1 yard runner from their running back I would for sure take Zeke over Deuce

Does anybody have a 10yd time on Vaughn? If he's around 1.6 or less it will be awesome. He has a 4.4 40 which is solid and more than effective.
You split him and Pollard in the backfield at the same time and it will be exciting.

I did. He conveniently had reasons to not run at any point. What do you think his agent and pro scout dad advised him?

We know you wont run a great 40 time. Teams will not even think of drafting you before round 5 or 6 anyway because of your size. So lets skirt the speed issue and just have them go off of this great hilight real we'll put together.

And this board bought it, hook line and sinker. The other 31 NFL teams, nope.

But Jerry is loving it. Great story. Headlines on NFL Network and ESPN. Fan interest and more headlines during camp and preseason.

Go Cowboys!!!!

Tavon Austin didnt lead the NCAA in rushing yards or be in the top 2 for attempts while at a power 5 school..man you guys are ignoring alot of facts to try and make him a gadget guy
You are right but I remember the lead up to Austin's draft and all the hype behind his moves and speeds in space. Austin had almost 2000 yards from scrimmage his SR. year yes he went WV but at the time it was a major college that played in a competitive conference. Phillip Lindsay is another guy that came out that was undersized and not as undersized as Deuce, he had a couple of years of "success" but it looks his body has not been able to keep up with the rigors of the NFL.

philip Lindsay played at rb in the NFL and isnt nearly as talented. Dont tell me this kid Vaughn isn't better.
Lindsay's 1st two years he produced since then not so much, more time not in uniform than in. First 2 years 31 games played, last 4 years 28 games played and Lindsay is not as small
