How many super-bowls does Tony Romo win with the 2016-2024 Cowboys?

That would put Tony Romo retiring at 44. How many superbowls does he win in that eight year span?

We had some really good teams in those eight years but our bus driver of a qb hasn’t capitalized!!

I would say at least 4

A healthy Romo probably wins 2 or 3! Can you imagine Romo throwing to Lamb and Cooper. He would of inspired the defense more than Dak. Romo never had a player like Parsons on defense. Some of you will say DeMarcus Ware but nope I disagree. Ware was too dam nice and not an enforcer. Parsons is forced to be nice because of the league rules.

If it wasnt for zeke dak wouldnt have a job. Zeke lead that offense.

Dak played well because he could rely on zeke for the run blocking, and safety valve.

We can talk stats if you want. But hatets gonna hate and it dont matter.

For the record murray one of my top 5 fave cowboys rb....except The Fumble.
you still didnt justify why you believe 2016 Zeke is better than 2014 Murray. What metric are you using? YPC cause thats about the only metric where I see Zeke better in which was your claim. Im not even talking QBs Im talking RBs and theres nothing in my mind that says ok the 2016 team was better than the 14 team.

Are you saying that if Romo was QB in 16 Zeke would have been even more marvelous?

I mean Murray had the absolute best cowboy season ever by a Cowboy RB and because of it Romo had his best season ever

I do think they both had a bad defense and a bad head coach but I dont necessarily believe tony romo wins in 16 because he could have won in 14 and didnt and I believe he was a better QB than our current 1 but not by much.

We wouldn’t have gotten any further with Romo than we have with Dak. The best team we’ve had since our SB wins in the 90s was the 2007 team. That team went one and done with Romo. We won nothing with Romo in 10 seasons and that would have never changed with the teams we‘ve had from 2016 to 2023.

Some of you either have forgotten what it was like when Romo was our QB or are in denial. He was a very good QB who had his share of problems in postseason. We’ve won more division titles and have been to the playoffs more times under Dak in fewer years. No QB is going to overcome the issues that keep popping up in the playoffs especially with our defense.

The Murray fumble was HUGE. But even after that, the Cowboys took the lead and the defense couldn’t stop a 1-legged Rodgers (just like it couldn’t stop a 2-legged Rodgers in 2016).
The Murray fumble changed the entire momentum of that game. Such a pivotal play.

Don't forget GB faced a 3rd and 15 down 13-20 from around midfield. All you have to do is force a 1 legged Rodgers into an incompletion and they very likely punt. But no, he hits Adams deep for a long TD.
And people actually believe the defense was going to stop Rodgers in a do-or-die drive if Dez scores??? Please.

4. you surely jest. I would have said 7 and making the consecutive superbowl wins of 4 a near impossible for anybody to ever catch it. I mean we are throwing numbers out there, might as well just go for it.

he did nothing with Witten and Dez. so now lamb and cooper!? just wow. he had the #1 seed one year and choked it away.

Zero,
Maybe he gets one in flag football if no one was allowed to breathe on him?

The Murray fumble was HUGE.
The fumble was a tragedy of Demarco Murray not simply covering up the football well. He had a clear lane and gaping hole. Julius Peppers made a great play for Green Bay by stretching back across Zach Martin into the hole but Murray was highly likely to have secured the football by fundamentally shielding it as he ran through the line. Football 101 for running backs.

You absolutely cannot fumble there, but like you said Peppers made an unbelievable play.

Probably none. We had two of our best teams this Century in 2007 and 2014.

Zero.

I liked Romo a lot but like Dak he was a good, not great QB. And like they were back in Romo’s day, this front office has never understood that unless your QB is Brady or Mahomes or maybe Burrow, all other QBs need either a great D or a great running game…maybe both to contend for a SB.

Neither Romo nor Dak is capable of strapping an offense or team for that matter on their backs and just carrying it to multiple playoff wins. With the right supporting cast, yes. But this FO during the cap era has never, ever been capable of putting a championship roster together around a good QB.

Besides, even the greats like Mahomes need some support. There is zero chance Mahomes wins the SB last year without that great chiefs defense. In 2020, Brady doesn’t win that SB withoutTampa’s D. Brady threw 3 picks that year in the NFC championship game but the Bucs D bailed him out. And those two are all time greats showing even they needed some help.
Few QBs are capable of this. (I'd say none but want to leave a little wiggle room.) Aikman and Staubach had great running games and great defenses during their Super Bowl runs, yet some think quarterbacks a notch below them can do it with less.

Since Jimmy left, this front office has handicapped its quarterbacks by not building complete teams around them. It may not be as egregious as blaming Dan Marino for not winning a Super Bowl in Miami, but laying the franchise's failures on Romo and Dak is just misplaced blame. All the blame belongs to the Joneses. Their mismanagement of the roster would have made it hard, possibly impossibly, for even the best QBs in the league to have won titles.

The more interesting question would be if Tony Romo was in his prime during that time span.

Zero is still probably the correct answer, but I would have loved to see what Romo could have done with last year's team. That was a decent roster.
The last 3 seasons Romo would have at least 1 SB
