How many super-bowls does Tony Romo win with the 2016-2024 Cowboys?

That would put Tony Romo retiring at 44. How many superbowls does he win in that eight year span?

We had some really good teams in those eight years but our bus driver of a qb hasn’t capitalized!!
0. Wasn't capable of winning big games when it mattered in the post season.

Zero.

I liked Romo a lot but like Dak he was a good, not great QB. And like they were back in Romo’s day, this front office has never understood that unless your QB is Brady or Mahomes or maybe Burrow, all other QBs need either a great D or a great running game…maybe both to contend for a SB.

Neither Romo nor Dak is capable of strapping an offense or team for that matter on their backs and just carrying it to multiple playoff wins. With the right supporting cast, yes. But this FO during the cap era has never, ever been capable of putting a championship roster together around a good QB.

Besides, even the greats like Mahomes need some support. There is zero chance Mahomes wins the SB last year without that great chiefs defense. In 2020, Brady doesn’t win that SB withoutTampa’s D. Brady threw 3 picks that year in the NFC championship game but the Bucs D bailed him out. And those two are all time greats showing even they needed some help.

The 2007 team was stacked too. They had the 1 seed and lost to the Giants who went on to win the SB. That was their best chance with Romo. Romo was not much different than Dak.

And people give him a pass to losing to the Giants because they won the SB but they should've beat that Giants team I don't care what Pats did against them. Cowboys matched up well and were a better team.

Based on...absolutely nothing.
If it wasnt for zeke dak wouldnt have a job. Zeke lead that offense.

Dak played well because he could rely on zeke for the run blocking, and safety valve.

We can talk stats if you want. But hatets gonna hate and it dont matter.

For the record murray one of my top 5 fave cowboys rb....except The Fumble.

Yeah that's just bogus. Zeke lead the offense but Dak still needed to make key plays and key throws. You can't scream "team game" one minute and then think a team can win 13 games with just a running back. You're just sadly misinformed if that's what you believe.

Zeke was better ....in 2016.

If dez manages to put the ball in the endzone, or murray doesnt carelessly fumble....things might be different.
The Murray fumble was HUGE. But even after that, the Cowboys took the lead and the defense couldn’t stop a 1-legged Rodgers (just like it couldn’t stop a 2-legged Rodgers in 2016).

The Dez play was emblematic of Tony’s play. A bet it all on 1 play instead of playing to get a fresh set of downs and keeping Rodgers off the field.

I’m not dogging on Tony; I watched him do a lot of exciting things. Nor am I canonizing Dak; he had/has his limitations. But reality is that the game (and team) is a collection of dependent variables and subject to the butterfly effect.

Yes...i have said several times inthe past....dak played well in 2016 for unexpected rookie start. And the nfl thought so too right?

I neglected to mention that in my comment, sorry.

Comparing these two quarterbacks is like comparing a cockroach to a spider. Both played for the Cowboys, but their circumstances and eras were totally different. Romo and Dak played during different periods with different teammates, coaches, and strategies. Romo had his set of challenges and strengths, and so does Dak. Comparing their stats without context doesn’t paint an accurate picture. Romo dealt with significant injuries, while Dak is dealing with his own set of challenges.

None. He blew his chance in 2007 when we went 13-3 and had a first round playoff bye and he spent that week in Mexico drawing plays in the sand with Jason Witten. The giants then come into our house and beat us while holding our stellar offense to only 17 points. Romo completed 50% of his passes that day with 1 TD and 1 int. and barely had 200 yards. Then in 2008 he choked away our playoff chances by going 1-3 in December. Who can forget the 34-3 playoff loss to Minny in 2009? Vintage Romo, didn't pass for a TD or 200 yards but did have an interception. 2010 was a Romo injury year. 2011 was another Romo choke job going 1-4 in the last 5 games after starting 7-4. 2012 we sit at 8-6 with a chance to make the playoffs and tank the last two games. 2013 with a chance to make the playoffs and again we go 1-3 down the stretch and miss the playoffs. 2014 was actually Romo's but shot but he got ARodded in the 2nd round and of course the Dez catch controversy. 2015 was another Romo injury year. Romo's tenure was filled with choke jobs that kept us from making the playoffs and choke jobs the few times we made the playoffs. I liked Romo but to say he did anymore than Dak is just silly. They both have played bad at the worst possible moments.

Not sure how many SB he would have won....maybe luck into one ...but certainly more playoff wins and maybe two or three NFCCG appearances. The teams have not been total disasters, but Dak has not been good enough to overcome anything. Actually he has held back a couple of teams. Either way, Romo and Dak will retire with the same number of SB victories. So it doesn't really matter.

I don't see him winning any. He had some great teams over the years but never got them over the hump in the playoffs. I don't see how that would have played out differently beyond his prime and there's a greater chance he would see time on the sideline than in the Super Bowl.
