How much money do you carry with you generally

Less than $20 usually. Only carry that because of an emergency big gulp or a can of copenhagen :)

LOL, it should be called a can of Stockholm. Swedes are into that sort of tobacco, not us Danes. :)

where are you getting all of these $2 bills? I have a couple, but if I used them, that would be it. I don't see them around.

Just ask for them at the bank. They have them usually. I jokingly asked them to give me a few $2 bills when the teller asked me how I wanted my cash, the bill denominations.

They probably have those Indian woman dollar coins and 50 cent pieces too.

gotcha

I always want cash on me, and usually do, but nothing more than $60 and most often around $20.

i have about $80 on my right now and that is only because i havent had a chance to deposit it in my account. i hate carrying cash not because i might spend it quickly, it's more that i will forget what i spent it on and have to backtrack to figure it out:cool:

p.s. jobberone you leave your id in your shoes? eeek

I'm a server, and I still carry 0$ on me ever.

Can't think of a thing I've bought in years that couldn't be purchased with my debit.

Interesting thread. I take $200 from the ATM at a time and I replenish when that's gone. Mostly use plastic, so that tends to take a while, except...

My wife also replenishes when she runs out of cash, but she usually does it by taking it out of my wallet. And then there's the boy...

I used to only carry about $10-20 on me at a time. I then went to work up in the northeast and I soon discovered I needed a whole lot more than that because of all the toll roads. I don't know how they do it up there. I know they have the EZ-pass but it seems like every time I turned around there was another toll to pay. So now I keep $40 stashed in my wallet just in case I travel somewhere where there are a lot of tolls. I want to be prepared just in case I forget.

I usually have no cash on me but when I do get some cash it tends to stay there unused for awhile because I forget it's there.

My friend produced this video. It was on the front page of youtube for a long time. Probably one of the most well done videos I've ever seen and not just because he's a good friend.

If you're an Austinite, you should definitely watch.

Usually a $20 or less. Mainly because sometimes I might buy something off a street vendor who don't accept cards.

I absolutely hate when people pay with cash at places that accept cards. Like Starbucks. People bog down the line when they pay with cash. It takes me less than 20 seconds to order and pay. It always take them way longer than that.

Get with the times people.

The only time I use a card is on very rare occasions and that is ONLY a gas card. And I think it has been close to a year since I have used that one.

Had credit cards, will not even use my debit card or card to withdrawal money.

Always want cash in hand and I think the credit card companies are making a killing off of people.

On to the original topic.

It depends on the day. Normally Monday is my gas up day so I will have the most on that day and it will range between $50 (at least) to $100 at most and after I fill up the car it is much less but what is less lasts me the rest of the week and sometimes I have extra that carries over for the next week or that I kind of hide away on occasions for a "rainy" day.

I used to have like $20 and use my debit card for everything but since superstorm Sandy I have about $250 in cash

The only time I carry alot of cash with me are if I'm going to a music festival for a few days and know things will be cash-only, and if there is an ATM the fee will be exhorbitant.

I always carry $0 and a debit card. I can take cash out for anything that requires cash, and I try to take out exactly what I need.

99% of the time I have zero cash on me. The most I have had in my wallet in the past two years was maybe $120 and it was a quirk that I ended up with the cash on me.

I am not sure why but I just feel uneasy with cash on me, I have never been robbed in broad daylight. I guess I just got used to controlling everything digitally.

Oddly enough I do have $45 in cash right now.
