Refs can call one key penalty and change the outcome. And they do. Man, you have to ignore a mountain of evidence to not see it.

Exactly.. and it does not have to be a lot of calls.. Just one can change the course of a game.. The one that I remember most and still hurt from was the phantom PI call they gave Lynn Swann in the Super Bowl after our defense had forced a 3 and out and our offense had gotten some momentum and had just cut the Steelers lead to 21-17 and was about to get the ball back. Swann was 5 yards out in front of the DB (Bennie Barnes?) and the only way he could have interfered would have been if he had a gun and shot him because he sure as hell was not close enough to touch him. Instead of getting the ball back the THIRTY PLUS yard penalty set the Steelers up to score and go up 28-17 with 7:10 left which clinched the game for all intents and purposes. Not only do penalties like that cost a team on the scoreboard but it deflates you. The defense lost its fire after that after it had forced punts on three straight possessions in the second half before that call. So a tight hard fought game turned into a two score game on that one stupid call. Then as luck would have it the next kickoff goes to Randy White who fumbles at the 18 instead of just falling on it and boom (Why was he back there?) .. it's 35-17 .. game over.. drive home safely. If they don't make that call and the Cowboys get the ball back and score on their next possession (like they did) there's a good chance those last two TDs never happen and the Cowboys win that game 24-21.

Yup.

And that call was so bad, it's almost impossible that it wasn't on purpose. Some sorta ref vendetta at the very least.
