Going FB is a great way to snag a starter in the 6th and we have a need.

Also would not mind taking a flyer on Rico Gathers, the Baylor power forward. I hear conflicting reports about whether he's even in this draft though.

My favorite under the radar type is DJ Hunter at Marshall. Hunter played WLB but he's about 5-11/205 and ran sub 4.4. He played SS back in his Sophomore year. He was a 4* CB in HS and initially committed to Tennessee. Scholarship was revoked due to felony assault and domestic violence incidents while a HS student. Might not be an RKG or he might have grown up. He'll also be 26 in August. That all said, his speed really shows up on the field. He's a missile. He could be a dynamite LB/S hybrid. Will also be great on special teams for some team. Might be more of a UDFA guy.

**May want to mute your computer before playing. Background music is just some generic bass and drums but it's annoying.

Good call on Hunter. I think I read he was SPARQy too.

Driskell is an intriguing guy....has all the tools...had some back luck in college with injuries. If he could improve his ability to read defenses he would be a nice developmental guy.

Agreed. Driskell and Cardale Jones have very intriguing upside. It's the lack of intangibles that is worrisome, but not a lot of "winners" at QB available in this draft anyway. Both guys would be low risk, high reward due to their crazy size/arm strength/athleticism metrics.

Wouldn't be too surprised if we don't make both 4th round picks and all 4 6th round picks. I just imagine that 6.14 is going to be traded for a move up somewhere. I really don't see the need for 4 6th round picks, rather see the one we can trade used to move up to make sure we get someone we like.

Trade them all for the highest pick we can get. This team isn't turning any sixth rounders into players.

I am comfident we will draft a guy with one of these that should have been UDFA.

Well, the difference between a 6th rnd pick and a UDFA is negligible, so if I want a player, I draft him rather than hope I get him as a UDFA.

Otherwise I use my 6th rounders to move here and there in the 3rd,4th and 5th round.

You draft draft-able players that you want the rights to.

I get the idea that maybe you use a 6th round pick on a guy who will be an UDFA that will have multiple teams interested in him to avoid a bidding war, but realistically, that's not the case. Did you then skip a draft-able player who will now drop into the FA market?

I think you stick to your board and you draft players you want in every round, even the final one.
Then you go to work to sign guys you also had interest in but not as much interest as the guys you actually used those 6th round picks on.

Ever taken a look at some of the quality NFL players who were selected in the 10th-12th rounds? This is why teams have scouts who work full time, year-round. They may be wrong in their evaluations in round 6 just as they are wrong in round 1. Don't confuse the team's rankings with the media/pundits rankings. Even in the 6th round, it's not a crap-shoot; teams draft guys they have a great deal of information about, and even in free agency, they have every player ranked.
