When? When he was with Washington or Minn. The guy used to throw darts in his prime. They owned the east for much of his time when he was starting. You don't go to 5 NFC championship games with an inaccurate QB.
I am not a fan of him by any means and I can't stand the people that want to put him in the HOF but to say that he wasn't accurate is completely incorrect.
Also he had good defenses, not great. And to knock Wilson for a great defense is just lazy.

His entire career. The Eagles fans had a love/hate relationship with him. He threw a good deep ball, but that was it. Everthing else was highly unpredictable. Threw it at receivers feet frequently.

He had a tremendous defense and a terrific running game, and he could scramble. He was OK, nothing more.

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO.

First of all, they're built NOTHING alike. Prescott is a big strong protypically built QB. Wilson is Friedo Baggins.

And Wilson isn't that great. He benefits from a tremendous defense, and formerly Marshawn Lynch. He did not have to do much most of the time. Nice player, but not anywhere near what Tony Romo is.

Prescott needs to learn to play real quarterback like Romo.

Is that the Indian actress who apparently had a sex change and now lives in the Shire? Or just Frodo's lesser-known, dimwitted brother?

Why Russell Wilson? Because he is part black? I want him to be the next great superbowl winning QB who's game is like no one else.

To play in the league for 10+ years, go to 5 NFC championship games, 6 probowls, be name offensive player of the year and throw twice as many TDs as Ints you have to be better than just "OK".

Again I am not a fan of him but I can label him a good QB. If Dak was to be Donovan like I think a lot of people around here, myself included, would accept that. Also up until 2014 a lot of people here had a "love/hate relationship with our QB. Some still do.

He's a good QB. He is not an elite QB. Did you watch how horrendous he was against the Packers in the NFC championship game? He's had multiple games like that. Remember how average he was against our lousy defense two years ago. And last year, too?

Nick Foles had 27 TDs and 2 INTs two years ago.

That's a bad comparison. Nick Foles never came close to repeating that feat.

But Wilson?

26 and 10 his first year
26 and 9 his second year
20 and 7 his third year

So it's not like he's not put up some good numbers in other years. His ratings over those 4 seasons range from 95 to 110.

You sell him short.

Are you saying he would have put up the same numbers if he was playing for the Cleveland Browns? That the rest of the team doesn't have anything to do with the quarterbacks play? That couldn't be more wrong.

You think any great QB would put up big numbers if they were in Cleveland instead? Of course not.

It's bizarre that Wilson is one of those QBs that people just like to put down.

Agreed. McNabb was a very good QB. Was he Brady? Of course not.

But if this franchise turned a 4th round pick in Prescott into another Donovan McNabb, that's a huge win for this franchise.

It's lazy.

It's not only lazy but ill-fitting.

They try to discredit him by attributing the team's success to their defense and run game. Wilson isn't a game manager. Trent Dilfer was a game manager.

Game managers don't throw for 34 TDs/8 INTs for 4000+ yards at a 68% clip.

If anything, he's a more efficient Aikman'esque QB that plays within the concept of his team's offense and strengths.

just for the record McNabb was an inaccurate short passer...he would throw screens and hit his RB's at the shoe laces, but you get him to throw intermediate and long passes he had better accuracy, I still dont see much of him in Prescott, so i dont think thats a good comparison.

I think he's a fine QB and a good leader. I just don't think he's elite.

I don't think they are overly similar in terms of physical makeup and style of play. And I'm a big Russell Wilson fan.

Wilson is shorter in stature and has to do things to be able to see over the linemen. He loves to spin out and go backwards to buy himself time and make a crazy throw. While he's great at it, most QB's can't do it and most coaches would never want their QB going backwards likes Wilson does.

I think Dak has more natural, stand in the pocket, throwing ability. Wilson has far more natural and uncanny escapability and is likely a better runner than Dak. They do have the same type of running style, more of a fullback type of running style instead wide receiver style of running. So with Wilson, you can use the read option because he's strong enough and big enough (not tall, but big) to do it without getting hurt. RG3 couldn't do that as he is not built like Wilson and couldn't take the pounding.

I just don't see us using RPO's and read options as much as Seattle does with Wilson. But, I also think we have more standard pass plays available to use because of Dak's height and arm strength.

I would just like to be able to keep him off the field for this year and if Romo is good to play next year, I'm fine with that as well. I also like that he has enormous hands (10-7/8") which is great for when we play up in NY, Philly and DC.

4000 yards puts you in the middle of the pack. Its a meaningless milestone at this point. The td/int ratio points to situational play. He has a lead and doesnt have to throw...which also points to that middle of the pack passing yardage.

He is a good NFL QB and a great fantasy football QB. The latter bit is why he gets the attention.

Ok, he was slightly above average. But he wasn't what he was advertised to be. (Limbaugh was right.)

When that defense left, he was exposed.

I really don't know what more Wilson could do... The amount of disrespect for the guys talent is mind-boggling.

All I'm seeing are excuses as to why Wilson wins and why Tony has not.
Why do you care?

Well there are like maybe 4 elite QBs in the league right now. If Prescott turns into Russell Wilson, we hit a home run with that pick. Not sure how anyone could sit there are argue otherwise or try to put down Russell Wilson in the process.

LOL.

Tony Romo threw for 3700 yards in 2014, in what some consider one of his best years and worthy of MVP consideration. Guess that means he's just a game manager too.

Russel Wilson is incredible. He's had nothing but success in the league and if his biggest knock is losing his second back to back super bowl I'd take that every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

He's remarkably consistent, great deepball, great accuracy, huge improvisational skills, mobile, confident and a leader. He passes every single eye test and has had an uninspiring group of receivers in his career.

It's absolutely true that marshawn and the defense have provided him with insurance, but so what? He's made the absolute most of it.

30 odd teams would kill to have him on their roster
