How was that Cin ball when they didn't get a first down after the touch?

Not sure why this is so hard for some.

The "block" is irrelevant if the ball passes the line of scrimmage. Once a Cowboy player tried to field it, it was like any other muffed punt.

Jerry should call Amani Oruwariye, Coach McCarthy, The Special Teams coach, etc. into his office and ask what the hell happen there like bad kids in Junior High use to get called into the Principal office back in the 1970's and 1980's!!! :muttley::lmao::laugh::omg:

It wasn't even a punt block play, the guy just got through so there's no reason to be made at the play call. If the player doesn't touch the ball then Aubrey is already in great position with about 10 more yards to kick the game winner.

No one complained about the rule before, so this is just a fanbase being mad that the rule went against the team.

Before ST goes out on the field Fassel tells ST stay away from the Punter ( see Sam Williams ) we are setting up a return we want the offense and or Turpin getting this back . It’s called COACHING.

I swear that didn’t used to a first down. Yeah, we touched it beyond the line. But even when they recovered, it was well behind the first down line. Doesn’t make any sense that it’s Cin ball in that case. Should still be fourth down.

Okay, I’m sure I don’t know the rule but still.

Of course, how in the heck do we still have professional football players that don’t know you’re supposed to leave that ball alone. I swear the ball found the only player that didn’t know that rule. Everyone else in the stadium, including the toddlers in attendance, knew the deal.
Any Cowboy player that doesn’t know to ‘Lett it be’ should be cut immediately.

The reason the Cowboys were able to block that punt is because Cincinnati didn’t think the Cowboys would be stupid enough to try and block it. So they did not have maximum protection. They were going to play the ball down field on the return. But the dumb Cowboys decided to have an attempted pump block on. The minute we touch the ball it’s a live football. If it goes past the line of scrimmage, whoever gets it it’s their ball the downs don’t matter and the first down is obsolete. Cincinnati ball. Basically it’s like an onside kick but a punt. We never should’ve had an attempt to block the punt on that play. We had two minutes left. We were getting the ball back and all we needed was a fuel goal. Ridiculous.
