Its 2023 not 1972........
Nice exaggeration

almost all those examples were very recent, actually those quarterbacks names were all from recent history some just back to 2017 or later.

I've seen quarterbacks I've mentioned get to a Super Bowl and they are not even as good or at least on the same level as Prescott because their teams were better you want to know a really good one nice parallel teams overcome when situations are not perfect not one player how about Matthew Stafford winning a Super Bowl leading the league in my guesstimation in turnovers, total turnovers, he had at least 20, I'm betting more...

he had two INTS in the Super bowl his team stepped up and bailed him out!

Prescott's team never steps up and bails him out, that's the problem, you're asking him to overcome deficiencies of the team when it's not perfect but it's hard to do when you don't have the support up front.

The trenches and with the run game or when the defense makes some spectacular play maybe they shouldn't make IE Trayvon Diggs missing those two plays I know the defense played great but they didn't do what the Rams did and literally hand Stafford the ball back twice because they dominated. that defense made all the plays at the end of that game to get them back in it and give Stafford a shot.

so let's stop the nonsense again I'm not making excuses., he did not play well but you're asking him to do something most quarterbacks can't do. By the way you mentioned Patrick Mahomes up at the top that they won imperfect games, yeah they did it with the run game and the offensive line didn't give up one sack they opened holes for a bunch of no name running backs and they ran with a limping quarterback...

Which means the play caller actually did his job and yes they won the game because Patrick Mahomes team did support him he got hurt they ran the ball being down by 10 and they literally the defense shut down with the Eagles did best to make sure they had a shot to come back and win and they did but they did it but with a team effort Patrick mahomes in that game against the Eagles did not carry the team with his arm, they literally had to change at halftime and make adjustments because they were losing by 10 trying to play their regular game that's great coaching great execution by the entire team especially the offensive line....

when will you understand that's why the 90s teams were so great the offensive lines and the run game dominated in the playoffs, when it counted, they turned it on like the second Super Bowl against the Buffalo Bills,

Troy Aikman did not play well he looked like a dinking dunking average quarterback, he just looked like a quarterback he got carried by his defense, his run game, his offensive line, and his coaching how many times I got to say to go back and watch the game

Troy didn't do one special thing in that game, he literally was a bus driver, most of that game he was what I would call it check down Charlie just dumping the ball off moving it slowly and just depending on his team to support him, and they were down at the half they only came back because of the defense, the run game, and the offensive line turned it on and went the rest of the way to beat the bills...

that's how Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman were able to be hall of Famers their teams always seem to step up at the right time they didn't have to win it on their own you're asking Prescott and Romo to do things that Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach in the playoffs did not have to do, they always seem to have they're better players step up when it counted

TEAM GAME, 1972 doesn't have anything to do with it. its always been that way and always will..

It’s a team game but your best players need to step up and rise to the challenge. Dak is capable he doesn’t need training wheels.

That would be all of our best players why is it just Prescott he may be the leader at quarterback but there's a lot of other players that also make money that are also supposed to do their jobs and they're not doing them in the biggest moments against the best defenses that line is getting shut down look at the last three playoff games against the Rams and the Niners that line is absolutely getting shut down by the better front seventeens that's the problem they're getting stood up push back they don't open holes and it's hard to run an offense that way you become easy to defend that's my point you you don't understand and that's fine you're expecting him just to carry the team do it all by himself and that's a expectation that probably 30 other quarterbacks are not being asked to do because they can't there aren't very many elite quarterbacks that can overcome both their own mistakes and the team not stepping up most of those mistakes happen because of what's going on around you just like you want to blame both interceptions on Prescott when I know it's clear that Gallup didn't run the correct route he gave up he got pushed off and the defender just ran the route for him just went and got the ball gallop just stood there and watched Prescott saw play developing he threw the ball to a spot just like we've seen Troy do and it got picked off because of the player gave up on the play which has happened so much last year not only by Gallup but other wide receivers that's why changes were made big changes Kellen Moore's gone offensive line coach gone new play caller new running back coach.

I would love Prescott to be that guy but so would most other teams wish their quarterback could do that just in the worst possible situations Bail the team out and do the impossible.

those expectations to me are not training wheels, they're ridiculous almost all teens have to play like a team to win the bigger games because they are playing against the best competition, you can't make mistakes and play average to below average against the better teams. they're going to beat you, that's what's going on here we're making the most mistakes, you're calling it training wheels, the 14 penalties in 2021 against the Niners somehow Prescott was supposed to overcome all those behind the chain moments all those plays called back??

you don't call that unfair expectations?? they play keep away in 2018 with 276 yards on the ground given up, they had less chances to make plays because of the defense, and then you didn't have a good run game and the line was being stood up and or pushed back,

it was it was obvious, yes last year was Prescott's worst playoff game of his career, he could have played better possibly but so could everyone else why does Prescott have to be the only player out of 53 players that you're saying should bring his best game, should overcome everything, why isn't the offensive line, zeke, Kellen Moore ,the other wide receivers and tight ends that did nothing you know like Dalton Schultz 2 mental mistakes those kill games they're cumulative they basically add up to losing by one score you cant make those mistakes as small as they seem against the best defenses.

By the way as great as our defense played, we can keep skipping over the fact, I realize they were tired, they gave up some big plays. if they want to be known as one of the best defenses in the league and they want to have a name applied to them, they're going to have to make those plays that Diggs didn't make.. that's what the big-time defenses do, IN those big moments they catch that interception, they blast Kittles and make that ball pop out.

that's just a bunch of plays missed on both sides of the ball that makes you lose by seven points.

that's it there is no other way there is no excuse that is a fact the fact that you expect Prescott to overcome all the mistakes made by the rest of the team is a ridiculous expectation because we should expect the rest of the team to also play their best game to also just show up and be good they don't have to be spectacular just be good you're saying you keep being sarcastic and saying I'm expecting to add a bunch of all pros and some more talent,

No I expect the ones that we bring to the game to do their job as well as everyone's expecting the quarterback to play.

If SF can make Purdy look good I think they will make Darnold look just as good. They also have Hargrave from Philly. They will be the team to beat this year. Eagles are solid even though they lost some players and coaches they always had great depth.Hurts gained so much confidence going toe to toe with Mahomes and the Chiefs they are set for years. I hate to beat a dead horse but Dak has to stop playing so poorly when faced with a tough defense. That is the true difference in the three teams. I just don't think Dak has it in him. Great at throttling bad teams but that's about it.
The other two teams have a dominate run game that they can lean on. People can talk about Dak all they want, but those other two QB's would struggle much the same if not more without a high level ground attack.

It's June, we don't know.

On paper, I would say both opponents have some issues which could cause them to regress. We have less question marks but we still may not be as good as either team in the trenches.

However, if SF gets the QB position playing decent they are nasty. If Hurts continues his improvement, they may overcome their losses.

Let's see the 2023 rosters take the field before we get too worked up about it.

When teams are close then QB and coaching make the difference

There can be no argument that last 2 years Dak is the reason we lost to the niners

People can say what they want but our current RBs are not as good as last year and Dak will struggle without a dominant run game. If we don’t get a real number 2 we are in trouble

He and McCarthy will need to pick it up if we want to advance

Simple

I agree but Hurts was top shelf last year. Waiting to see if he can duplicate it.
He’s good at running their system but just as a natural QB he’s nothing special.

As long as they keep leads and remain run heavy he’ll look better than he actually is.

Yeah but his production was special though. He was a MVP candidate lol.

it was the other way around I'd literally just rewatched that game and go man I've never seen a Hall of Fame quarterback do so little in a game
Then you must not have watched P. Manning in SB 50.

And as he'll almost certainly make it to the HOF, add Rothlisberger to the list.

There are others, don't need to list them. Suffice it to say that they played terribly, but their team "held them up" and compensated for their poor play.

Yeah.. Not arguing with any of that.

I just know how to look past it and see what he actually is.

When teams literally won’t rush you in hopes that you will throw them there is definitely glaring weakness in your game.

Kaepernick looked great in that system until the system eventually broke down.

Hurts is a RPO machine.. For now..

I disagree. I think the Eagles’ 2023 schedule is slightly tougher than ours—at least the “experts” are saying it. Plus, they won’t sneak up on anyone this year. Teams have had another year to plan for Hurts and his tricky little sideways run plays, and if you remember, they won a couple last year they shouldn’t have.

Well thanks for making my point

I mean that's exactly what I've been trying to tell the other people that I'm having this debate with that some of the best quarterbacks we've ever seen play need their team to also play well to win..

most of these bigger games, they're not playing 17 games and leaning on the averages where you can win some games when you don't play up to your potential.

however, when you meet a team that's as good or better than you, you have to have your entire team come together and support each other.

they're all saying it's on Prescott to make up for the lack of good play but thanks for making my point for me

I agree with you there are other quarterbacks that I already listed I was just trying to make a point that the best quarterbacks considered by our fan base to be Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach have had their teams play better than them to win games. they've been just bus drivers at times, I don't remember any of them having to play a game where they didn't have a great run game, a great game plan, great adjustments by the coaches , good play calling and defense all come together and win the game.

like I said,

I don't think any of them ever had to literally step up on offense and be the only good player on the offense while everything else was falling apart around them, typically they had the best run game and the best offensive line in the business against the 49ers we have not brought that attitude, that physical play, we have not had the right play calls and players are just not playing well around Prescott

There’s not a gap IMO. Dak needs to play better against the 49ers. Simple as that. Cowboys showed last year they can play with the Eagles. They are of the same caliber.
Hurts played against Rush, and Dak played against Minshew. We really didn't learn anything there last year.

The Cowboys aren't far off from those teams because theCowboys defense is good and probably better this year, and Dallas has added offensive options.

The 49ers quarterback position remains unsettled, and Quinn is working on Hurts as we speak. Jury is still out on him.

Eagles and Cowboys play similar schedules, where they don’t Eagles get Tampa Bay, Minnesota, Kansas City. Dallas gets Carolina, Detroit, LA Chargers. And where they do, Eagles get Buffalo, Miami, San Francisco at home, Cowboys get all three on road. Carolina and Detroit will finish ahead of Tampa Bay and Minnesota. The “experts” need to look harder.

Little Foot really loves himself some Dak. He's always on your mind, now that's real love
