How will Dak adapt to a new offensive scheme?

i'm convinced our backup QB is in college right now
It could be argued that the system is limited to what Dak is capable of? He struggles with progressions and cant go back around as he cant read or predict the Defensive movement....which leads to the old composure. That coupled with his limited mobility (and inconsistent O-Lie protection) and we can really only continue with the TCO.

The old systems have produced little success in the playoffs, so he must adapt to a new scheme, or leave. Simple as that.

No scheme is gonna improve his arm, his lack of mobility, his poor pocket presence, or the ghosts he sees on the field.

The guy is in the twilight of his career and done. Only idiot Jerry would hitch his wagon to a dead horse.

If Jerry is making plans based upon Dak, then just pick a new team to root for.

You can study anything for 10 years and still not fully grasp it.

Theres college QBs right now that could come in day 1 and give you more than Dak when it comes to understanding more than just the basics of offense.

Dak has never and will never be that kind of QB.
Exactly.. Dak can’t process the field quickly enough, so the scheme is limited based upon his skill-set. Players that grasp it, they have the foundation at the very beginning, it’s just a matter of putting it all together.

This right here!!!

Like his first and second season, methodical, dink, and dunk control the game football that’s Prescott. That was Tom Brady. They changed that scheme because everybody wanted to be like Kansas City. You have to work it the way you build it.
Any good head coach places his players in, and designs the scheme to, allow the player's skills to put to the best use.

Dak's not a Romo or Favre gunslinger quarterback, that's not his game.

Though I would have to wonder if Dak can even go back to his first two season's type of play, he's been part of a dysfunctional system so long...

Being in the same system for years, then Mike comes in and adds his small wrinkles to the offense. With a new play caller coming in, how will Dak adapt? Will having someone he's familiar with benefit him and this team. The offense is boring, and predictable, it needs a complete overhaul.

Dak likes to be in the shotgun formation often, will this continue? I saw the Rams QB and Hurts in the playoffs have success under center, could we get Dak back under center and get this play action game strong again?? We shall see (getting a running game helps) please give your thoughts
It will have to be a simple offense. The coaches put in the offense that Dak was capable of running. Thats why it's boring and predictable.

first off,.. we'll have to see what becomes of the new offense - who will be hired to direct it ?

- Dak already knows Kellen offense and has a rapport with him. Plus i think its' a great chance that KM would try to lure his buddy Doug Nussmeirer whose presently QB coach in Philly
with him to be Moore's OC .
- it'd be a wait and see of Moore's other asst. coaches. OL, RB, WR, TE..etc.

- The Jones as they have done the last two DCs, will likely hand-pick Moore's DC ( Al Harris ?) ... if the likelihood of Zimmer departing . ( Al Harris ?)

- Be interesting to see if Bones Fassel be persuaded to return ...

Who Jerry hires as HC could be very telling about Daks future with the team. A Kellen Moore is likely an indication that we are going to continue a Dak friendly approach for a lack of a better term. A Pete Carroll type may indicate a contract in length that aligns with Daks contract with the Cowboys, which sounds similar to what Jerry wanted with McCarthy. There are some candidates out there that could indicate Dak may be on the way out as well, despite the recent extension.
Didn't Carroll have issues with both OC play caller ..and DC in Seattle ?

It won't matter. Dak's cooked either way. We're stuck with him and he stopped playing well even in the regular season. "You're about to see my best football." Remember he said that? Then played his worst season ever.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and predict he’ll be average.

He won't adapt to a new scheme well. He has a limited skill set. A new scheme won't fix that. So he will need someone like Moore who will run something similar. Not hard to figure out.
Bring in Deion Sanders and Dak's base talents will grow due to better isolation upon working elements and instruction on technique. Deion is fully up on ball protection and setting up patterns.

Deion will set the passing game up light years. He knows his stuff and points that are critical as well. He will help with both sides of the ball in a passing NFL.

He is aware of talent levels coming into the NFL, which will help both sides of the ball. Unlike Jimmy Johnson, he has the NFL side in hand to start.

Just with his respect in the league he can heal a lot of the doubt in team to win. Deal and heal...
