No, that's who many fans want.
That's the problem with Jerry firing any coach.
Everyone gets so wrapped up in their firing and believing rumors that they always assume the coach they want will be hired.
That's why I would probably laugh when his replacement ends up being someone most fans did not want.
^This.
30 years of Jerry Jones usually making atypical coaching hires has seemingly taught some fans ONE thing:
He will hire the guy THEY want.
Problem is Jones has hired (post-Johnson) Barry Switzer, Chan Gailey, Dave Campo, Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett—who were, not at all surprisingly, not THEIR first choice, second choice, etc. Even an extremely qualified coach as Bill Parcells was not some fans’ number one choice.
Anyone can reflect back on Jones’ hiring practice and wonder how can some people be so certain THEIR favorite guy is JONES’ favorite guy?
This is an exact reason why I created the You Want Garrett Fired thread, namely very few people seemingly care what kind of ideas bounce around inside Jones’ skull BUT they know for sure what he will do.
It’s crazier than seeing someone eating cotton candy with a spork.
