It really is crazy to see how the QB market keeps getting reset. Besides the opinion if you think "this player" is worth it, the next guy and the next guy and the next guy have to keep outdoing each other. We're going to see a half billion dollar contract QB in the next 20 years. Just ridiculous.

The end result is what matters -- does the signing of the QB to the "market value" salary help lead a team to deep playoff runs - and at least one NFL championship.

There should be a 2 year period where other teams are paying ~50mn+ on their QB and Dak has a ~30mn cap hit.

On an age-adjusted, production at the NFL level accounted for list, I think Dak comes in at #6 for who you'd want to build a team around right now.

1. Mahomes
2. Rodgers
3. Wilson
4. Allen
5. Watson
6. Prescott

Rodgers is also 37, so perhaps he comes in lower, but given the ability for Brady, Brees, Rivers and others to break age records at QB, you could likely say there is a good chance of 5 seasons left with Rodgers.

Allen / Watson / Prescott are not so far from each other.

Yeah, b/c it was imperative for us to remain mediocre and keep the streak alive. This teams only chance to break through was to reload with a rookie QB on a rookie contract. Now we make the same mistake Seattle, Philly, and LA made.........but with a much worse cast of characters.
