Parcells is selling Cowboys out... Yeah Pete Hunter wanted to leave but you could trade em to anybody you want for a better draft choice than that atleast a 4th if not a 3rd...

Uh...okay. If you say so.

It wouldn't surprise me if you were one of the people who thought we should have gotten a 3rd or 4th for Rashard Lee instead of just cutting him. :laugh2:

Oh, and last I checked, Derek Ross and Quincy Carter still aren't even on a roster.

But that Jamar Martin is blowing things up in Miami.

Right?

Ok ABQ..when I get the chance I will check out what Jets fans think. But like all fanbases the guy just signed is the second coming, and the guy just released the biggest bum who ever wlaked the earth. :D

:lmao:

You are wise Barb. Fair enough. It won't be long before we know if Pete can take advantage of his opportunity or not.

Good riddance, Ralphie.

Thanks for nothing.

Jamar is still a better fb than any we currently have on our roster.

Hopefully he is versatile, if you look at the FB Parcells has used over the years that is the one common. They are not strictly blockers

I think Polite is far and away the best FB we currently have. Question is, will BP value the crushing lead blocking he can provide or will he try and use a guy like A-Train at FB.

Jennifer Engel and Brad Sham are subbing for Galloway today on ESPN Dallas.

Engel on Hunter: "I've never met a player who has a more inflated opinion of himself compared to what he really is than Pete Hunter."

Sham, in his more moderate style: "I don't think Pete Hunter was nearly as accomplished a cornerback as he thought he was."

Sham also said this attitude cost Hunter the chance to become a good NFL safety.

Is it any wonder he's gone?

I agree with Sham, Hunter to me looked very stiff in the hips when he would turn to run with the WR and looked very poor in last years pre-season games playing CB. I still feel the ideal spot for Hunter will be safety but that is now up to the Jets and Edwards to determine that.

Ya know, it's a shame but sometimes that's just the way it is. Landry, Reeves and Ditka all tried to convince Todd Christiansen that he was a TE and not a FB. Christieansen wouldn't have it. Eventually talked himself out of a job with the Cowboys and landed in Oakland, where he was immediatly moved to TE. The rest is history. Funny thing is that Christiansen still hated the Cowboys for trying to do that, even after he had a lot of success with Oakland.

Sometimes guys just gotta learn it the hard way.

I just love how these Dallas Cowboys reporters unleash their true opinions of players once they are gone. Makes you wonder why these reporters don't simply tell it like it is (i.e. doing their job).

Because "loyal" Cowboys fans would accuse them of being traitors, jerks, etc. See Mickey Spagnola pertaining to Q for evidence. Lots of writers joined the dogpile, Mickey never changed opinions. Still paying for it too.

:welcome: to the forum.

Thanks Hostile, great place you have here.

I do understand the politics behind NFL reporting, but I still think it's kind of strange. I was one of those who applauded Mick for being honest about the Q Man. But I did not appreciate the degree of venom that Spag seemed to carry several months after he left. It's as if there was something personal there. Who knows?

Mickey unlike guys like JJ Tayor is paid and employed by the Cowboys. Taylor is quick to say he is not a fan of the Cowboys he is a reporter who covers the Cowboys for the DMN. Spags on the other hand does work for the Cowboys

Nice trade

Unless there was an injury, Pete Hunter was not going to receive significant playing time with the Cowboys this year. He was the fourth corner, at best, and possibly could've played some safety. With the Jets, he gets a chance to prove he can be an every down player.

For the Cowboys to get a draft pick in return, that's a pretty shrewd move. They picked up a pick for next April that could lead to more picks.

Nothing significant, but I just wanted to add to the thread. I was feeling left out...
