He has very limited lateral agility. He and demarco murray are very similar.

When i think of "talented" running backs i think AP, McCoy, Charles. Mcfadden can be productive in the right scheme, but he's limited.

Murray would be considered durable compared to McFadden. He's missed something like 28 games since he came into the league in 08. The Cowboys already have enough injury prone players.

I'll take him. THe biggest fear is him and Demarco both being injury prone but with Dunbar and Randle on the roster? I think you could afford to take a shot on McFadden with a cheap contract.

he would have to come cheap...something with incentives for games played...I wouldn't trust him to stay on the field TBH....but, I gotta say that if I saw a headline/news story around March that said that we signed him to a reasonable contract, it wouldn't upset me.....

I really like DMac but as others have said the durability is worrisome. I'd def take him if it was an incentive based contract because I think he's got top 5 RB kind of talent, but would def not break the bank because of the injuries.

He's not really that talented.

I completely disagree. If he were healthy, I'd take him over Adrian Peterson. He is a great runner, but unlike Peterson he's a good blitz pickup back and very effective receiver. Problem is...he can't stay healthy.

I really like DeMarco Murray as well. I think he is really, really good. But again, a guy that can't stay healthy. I don't think McFadden will be cheap, probably mid-range contract.

We need somebody that is similar to Murray next year, except that he can stay healthy. I'd really just prefer a good short yardage back behind Murray. If Dunbar can recover from the knee injury, then we would have Dunbar able to replace Murray if he gets hurt and then a short yardage back to replace Dunbar on 3rd and short.

That number was pulled down over the last 4 or 5 years of his career when he had lost a step and was playing for terrible teams. During his best years, from 91 to 95, he averaged 4.58 and 17 TDs per year.

On the flip side of that, McFadden had a ypc over 4.2 only in two seasons, in which he played only a combined 20 games. In '11, his best year in terms of YPC, he played in only 7 games and had 113 carries, which means every big run is emphasized way more than it would be for Emmitt.
