Hypothetical: Romo for Bradford?

Fantasy thread sure. However without resigning Romo it may very well be the decision out front office is making come next year. Bradford will be receiving a crazy amount next year and after this year his cap hit for being released would not be outrageous. If he doesn't produce at a good level he might be on the outs from St.Louis after this year. If we can't resign Romo, he is out.

So here are the scenerios:

If St.Louis called up today and wanted to trade Sam Bradford for Tony Romo would you do it?

If come next off season we lost Tony Romo, would you pursue Sam Bradford in free agency?

Would you prefer to franchise tag Romo instead of going for Bradford?

I would most likely do the Romo for Bradford trade upfront if it does not seem like we could resign Romo. It's obvious Romo is the superior player, but Bradford is about 8 years younger. That counts for quite a bit.

you can keep your 8 years...

8 years of garbage isnt worth anything

if you arent keeping romo then go find a new qb

I wouldn't call Bradford garbage.. We have a much better offense then St Louis. Put him on this team and he is a 88-90 QB rating guy.

Absolutely not.

Something else to think about.....kind of sad really.

Dallas won 8 games with Romo and St. Louis won 7 with Bradford. Wonder which direction each team goes with the other QB.

I like Bradford, a lot actually he's actually a very talented qb even from his days at OU (ew) so I'm not sure if this would be a good trade for us. I would have to do some number crunching to really have an opinion.

Interesting scenario though so kudos

Bradford is just an above average QB, far from being an elite QB, it doesn't matter he is 8 years younger, I wouldn't even consider trade.

Do you people just wake up out of bed and think "Hey let's see what I can post on Cowboyszone for attention"

Stop with the nonsense.

I don't believe it is anything like that. A plausible scenerio can trigger interesting debate. Needless flaming and disregarding ideas makes the CZ a less interesting place.

If every topic was about a resigning and every post was "Great" or "Nice signing" or other generic nonsense this site would not even be worth coming to.

He has said several times that because he grew up surrounded by Dallas Cowboys fans in OKC, he became a Pittsburgh Steelers fan just to be different. I hold that against him personally haha.

How is Bradford for Romo trade a plausible scenario?

If you truly believe that this is a plausible scenario, hell why not create a thread for each of 31 other QB, why not, it could happen, right?

This.....

This nothing more than a ploy to get attention, and start chaos.

I think it was great during the 2009 season.

I believe it is due to the sitution that both teams are in. They think they can win now but Bradford can't get them there. We can't win now with Romo, we surely won't with Bradford. They may be wrong about winning now, we may be wrong about not. Both QBs' could be leaving their respective teams at the end of this year. With them wanting to win now Romo would make sense and with us wanting to prevent another QB drought Bradford would make sense.

Did you know Bradford has never had a game with a passer rating above 119 (really it's something like 117.x)? 0 out of 42.

Romo did that 8 times his first 42 games and 8 times in his most recent 42. Or more than once every 5 games.

From my limited research, the average NFL team's QB that throws for a passer rating of 120+ in a game win ~90% of the time.

That would put Romo's worth at +3 wins/season on the Rams or Bradford -3 wins/season on the Cowboys if you want to try to project.

Here in St Louis, there isn't even of whisper of Bradford failing anything, fans here believe he is a very good young QB and with Fisher, they have high hopes of good seasons, Bradford isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

No, not very plausible scenario.

Right. They don't need Romo. They have their guy.

Bradford couldn't carry Romo's jockstrap. The guy has never had a season even close to an average Romo one. Put Bradford behind this oline and I can only imagine how awful he'd likely be.

I would do it in a hot second. Let Romo choke somewhere else. I doubt St Louis would do this. They passed up RG3 because of Bradford.
