Which is why Sean Payton stayed in NY after he got his play calling duties pulled by Fassel, right?

Oh wait....

Genius.
No, he went on to become a decent head coach, and Fassel later admitted he shouldn't have yanked him.

Good one.

But he did. And he left because of his reduced role.

Hey, maybe Stewart will leave and be a decent head coach somewhere else. In the meantime when he had control of the defense it sucked. When Wade became "more involved" (and we played some pretty crappy offenses) it got better.

You can downplay it until you run out of Homer Juice, but Stewart was doing a crappy job as DC until Wade personally stepped in. The idea of HAVING a DC is to free up time for the HC to deal with other issues, not have his hand held mid-season.

Issues like why the Special Teams are so utterly horrible and no one wants to do anything about them, that kind of thing.

Nothing wrong with Gailey... If that's who the head coach wants, that's who the hire should be.

I wish we could get some kind of indication on if Cowher is realistic at all, though. Like WG has said, he's made some negative comments about Jerry on TV. I know I get the feeling he wouldn't want Jerry's shadow over the team all the time the way it has been forever now.

I think Cowher wants to stay close to his roots. His family relocated to the Raleigh NC area, and that's where they want to be. Washington would be okay perhaps, and he would probably love to go to Charlotte, but that job seems secure with Fox.

I don't see Cowher coming to Dallas, and besides, his Pittsburgh record was nothing outstanding.

I'm not at all downplaying that he did a crappy job at calling the plays. It stunk. That's not my point at all. If you'd stop and read a little slower, you might actually pick it up.

So you think numerous mediocre teams walked all over this defense all because of play calling. The game plans were fine. The practices and teaching of fundamentals was perfect. It was a well honed team of 11 players set to dominate the league but Stewart called a middle run blitz instead of a slant left.

Seriously, do you even believe the nonsense you are selling? Or are you just trying to get a rise out of people?
