and San Diegos Defense in all aspects wasnt much better than ours last year.Just look at nfl.com stats page. They actually allowed a good deal of points. The offense is what made them 14-2.Maybe Wades style will work with us better.
I have to disagree. To me the stats are not as close as people make them out to be.
For example there is 21.2 yards per game difference in yards allowed in San Diego's favor.
Sounds like no big deal, but if you go see how many spots up or down you would move in the rankings with "just" a 21.2 yards per game difference you would see that it is indeed a big deal.
How about three points per game difference in San Diego's favor. Three points difference in either direction will dramatically change your ranking. If Dallas had been three points per game worse than they were last year they would have been tied for 3rd worst in the league. Conversely if San Diego had been 3 points per game better they ended up they would have been tied for 3rd best in the league.
The difference in rushing yardage is only 2.9 yards. If you go 2.9 yards in either direction there will not be a huge jump. So in terms of rushing yardage the are pretty close.
There was a 18.3 yards per game difference between passing yards allowed in San Diego's favor. Same holds true here. Eighteen yards difference in either direction will have a great impact on your ranking.
No need to even bother looking at sacks that is not even close.
If you take a closer look at final season ending stats you will see San Diego was significantly better statistically than Dallas except for rushing yardage allowed where San Diego was only slightly better.
