I never said I wanted zeke back. I was stating we have the same players (and could have zeke too) and upgraded it by adding more to the group.
Sorry if you don't think a top 10 oline that has a hofer, a 1st round pick everyone loves in Tyler Smith, a pro bowl center, a top 10 rt and tyron Smith (healthy half the year) isn't good enough.
Why keep drafting these mid round oline if you never want to let them develop or give them a chance.
How do these other teams manage without all 5 starters and backups being 1st round picks???
RB group is better just by getting rid of Zeke. But they could have easily done more and made the RB group amazing. Right now its one dimensional. Not big on Jones he is better than Zeke, but still not good enough. Not a difference maker. I have serious doubts that they will use Deuce properly. Tons of all around good backs in the draft and they passed on them. Could have really made this RB stable incredible and they didnt.
The Oline simply isnt good enough. You can fool yourself all you want. It wasnt last year and its worse even with the horrid Mcgovern leaving. They ONCE again are relying on Tyron Smith which has been a disaster since 2017 to do that. He'll be hurt in TC if not soon after. Then what? Chung? Hes backup fodder. Worse than McGovern.
Steele? Injured and wont be 100% to start. Will he ever get back? Have to wait and see.
Tyron will retire after this season. Steele UFA and Biadasz UFA after this season. Yah, gets even worse if we look to next year.
Cowboys knew it too. MM and Jerry talked about interior line as an issue quite a few times. Its why Jerry mentioned Steele as a possible swing tackle. I think they fully expected to get a interior lineman in this draft, it just didnt happen.
You can basically take STeele and Tyron and get one good tackle out of there. NO way do both guys play all year at a high level.
So this is how I see it.
Steele/Tyron, Martin, Biadasz, Chung, Tyler.
Major hole at LG at some point soon during the season if not right away.
And no IM not on the "dont need a pro bowler at every position" nonsense blow off theory. You have one BIG hole in the line and it kills the line. We've seen it now for the last 4 years happen.
I'm a HUGE Oline guy. To me its the key to your offense. Seen it play out in the NFL time and again.
I know a lot of you cats love to watch the big plays and think offense is about skill position players like recievers and QB's. Those guys dont do diddly without great Oline play. Burrows is really the ONLY guy I have seen get the SB with a poor to average Oline. And it was ultimately their undoing as he was sacked 8 times in the SB and they lost.
And just as a reminder..............we dont have Burrows. Dak needs good protection.
