I bet we can find the exact same post from you last year at this time when discussing WRs.

And low and behold, you were wrong, the Cowboys did nothing else until halfway through the season when they finally realized what most of the fans did in the summer of 2022 - that they were short at WR.
You won't find threads from last year. He went into hiding after Daks performance against the 9ers. But for some reason he didn't go AWOL this year. And Daks performance was worse.

Just enough time for tyron to get hurt. Lol

Are you saying they are going to do something about the oline and rb issues?

Or are you not concerned?
We have Pollard, Jones, duece, Malik, and luepke.

We also have the ability to sign zeke whenever we want.

That's a better rb group that year.

Where did you rank our oline last year? We basically have the same line with added fa, draft pick, udfas, and peters remains unsigned by anyone as a fallback.

Unless you classify McGovern as a major loss im not seeing where your huge down grade is. Especially with tyler Smith and all of our mid round draft picks having another offseason and more experience.

Good draft? Bad draft? Mediocre draft? I have no idea.

The confusion came right from the start when we took a DT. We haven't invested a big asset in the DT position in years. I like the pick. He can stop the run and has enough athleticism that with some coaching and refinement he might developed into a decent pass rusher from the inside.

They talked about the run game in the offseason so I figured OL and TB would be prime targets. Nope. The 2nd round pick was a pure need pick. Don't try to convince me otherwise. When LaPorta and Mayer went off the board at the top of the 2nd, I think they worried no TE would get to them in the 3rd so they grabbed Schoonmaker. Who does little for me. Not impressed, nor do I think it's a terrible pick. Odds are it's another questionable 2nd rounder from this franchise that really has some bad 2nd round picks.

Overshown is an athletic freak. And he makes plays. I have no issues with the pick. Will be interesting to see Quinn use him and Parsons together.

Fehoko? Decent player, not sure we needed him. DE is one place we have bodies. Maybe they envision him as a Tyrone Crawford type that they can use as a 3T?

The trade up for a big, tall but slow DB was peculiar. But Quinn has his mold for DBs and this kid seems to fit. Whatever. Doubt he's anything more than a special teams guy.

I like the kid from UNC and when you read his scouting report, he really seems like a guy that could end up at OG.

The TB? Great story. But he's likely a situational guy, which is fine, especially at that spot in the draft. I think Evans was still on the board, right? I would have taken him. I am not impressed with a top 3 TB depth chart of Pollard, Jones, Davis and this kid sprinkled in.
One of the things I realized is guys like you that really put up a lot of time into the Cowboys in the draft they really have every right to analyze an opinionate allthey care too. That’s sort of a side track but it’s something that just hit me. In the beginning I was somewhat as they say underground and I really appreciate you understanding the fifth round pick. He made it possible for the early selections that we made. I hope my early, it wasn’t too obscure

Yes because you have nothing to add besides baseless tears.

Wheres the downgrade at rb this year from last year? There isn't one. We've upgraded.

I see you just like to cry about everything lol

I never said I wanted zeke back. I was stating we have the same players (and could have zeke too) and upgraded it by adding more to the group.

Sorry if you don't think a top 10 oline that has a hofer, a 1st round pick everyone loves in Tyler Smith, a pro bowl center, a top 10 rt and tyron Smith (healthy half the year) isn't good enough.

Why keep drafting these mid round oline if you never want to let them develop or give them a chance.

How do these other teams manage without all 5 starters and backups being 1st round picks???

Add more depth via trades or final cuts. Plus they’re high on both Farniok and Waletzo.
Depth? We need a starting LG. Farniok is backup fodder and Waletzo sucks. Are YOU high on Farniok and Waletzo?

You thought Noah Brown was good last year. That's all I need to know about your scouting expertise

I believe Tyler will be playing LG with Tyron playing LT. I’m not a scout and therefore have no clue about Farniok and Waletzo other than the team is high on them. Don’t pretend to be either.

RB group is better just by getting rid of Zeke. But they could have easily done more and made the RB group amazing. Right now its one dimensional. Not big on Jones he is better than Zeke, but still not good enough. Not a difference maker. I have serious doubts that they will use Deuce properly. Tons of all around good backs in the draft and they passed on them. Could have really made this RB stable incredible and they didnt.

The Oline simply isnt good enough. You can fool yourself all you want. It wasnt last year and its worse even with the horrid Mcgovern leaving. They ONCE again are relying on Tyron Smith which has been a disaster since 2017 to do that. He'll be hurt in TC if not soon after. Then what? Chung? Hes backup fodder. Worse than McGovern.

Steele? Injured and wont be 100% to start. Will he ever get back? Have to wait and see.

Tyron will retire after this season. Steele UFA and Biadasz UFA after this season. Yah, gets even worse if we look to next year.

Cowboys knew it too. MM and Jerry talked about interior line as an issue quite a few times. Its why Jerry mentioned Steele as a possible swing tackle. I think they fully expected to get a interior lineman in this draft, it just didnt happen.

You can basically take STeele and Tyron and get one good tackle out of there. NO way do both guys play all year at a high level.

So this is how I see it.

Steele/Tyron, Martin, Biadasz, Chung, Tyler.

Major hole at LG at some point soon during the season if not right away.

And no IM not on the "dont need a pro bowler at every position" nonsense blow off theory. You have one BIG hole in the line and it kills the line. We've seen it now for the last 4 years happen.

I'm a HUGE Oline guy. To me its the key to your offense. Seen it play out in the NFL time and again.

I know a lot of you cats love to watch the big plays and think offense is about skill position players like recievers and QB's. Those guys dont do diddly without great Oline play. Burrows is really the ONLY guy I have seen get the SB with a poor to average Oline. And it was ultimately their undoing as he was sacked 8 times in the SB and they lost.

And just as a reminder..............we dont have Burrows. Dak needs good protection.

Agree tyron Tyler bia Martin then Matt starts rt until Steele is healthy.

Depending on Matt's play he will then fi in for tyron. If he doesn't justify the fill in then Tyler slide over to lt and edoga is the lg.

We also added some talent to develop in Asim and earl and bass

Ok, Tyron is hurt, now what?

Why do you care who the FO is high on? And what do you think that means if they actually say that? LOL

Dont need to be a scout to know. They have played. They suck. They are backup fodder for a reason.

Nice assessment.

Scott is a tall CB who can't cover. I do not understand our obsession w/ him at all.

Fehoko was a reach, but I really don't know who was available there, so I guess we'll see.
Quinn puts too much emphasis on his ideal CB. Sure it would be nice to have a tall rangy long armed CN like Richard Sherman.

But being long armed and tall shouldn’t be a prerequisite, but we value that now over talent. Now if there are a couple of closely rated CB’s then that trait can be a tie-breaker, but that’s all.

So you have Walenzgo starting at RT until Steele is healthy? LOL He sucks.

Now Tyron Smith goes down, which he will.

So now this is your line early in the season:

Walenzko, Martin, Biadasz, Chung, Tyler. LOL

Yah, no thanks.

That’s why I said they will acquire another offensive lineman before the season starts. We know Tyron will go down at some point.

They needed a stud not a scrub. This line needed to improve not get worse.
