I Believe We Found Our Receiver

This guy Treshon Holden was projected to be a 3rd round talent.

Turns out, he had some character issues, like spitting in a CBs face. Not cool. But if he can work through those and dedicate himself to football, he's got some serious talent and upside and it's very possible he could challenge Tolbert for targets.

We stole this UDFA. I'm calling it now. He makes the 53...

Very high catch to target ratio. Caught 45 of his 54 targets in '24 with almost 16 yards per catch.

You and I both know this we should hold our enthusiasm because I'm betting you can find a 20 play highlight reel for justice about any college player make them look good.. I'm not saying he's not looking good that's a great highlight reel he looks a little like Devante Smith to me but that doesn't make him Devante Smith...

Trying to think of who reminds me of and that's the first guy that came to mind. But like I said I'm gonna need to see a lot more training camp preseason we've seen some preseason receivers here in Brooks and Cropper and others that didn't do much in the regular season so you know I mean nice video but I gotta see more...
For the record, I was a Juanyeh Thomas fan before he made the team. Same for TJ Bass. I'm forgetting someone too. I mean, UDFAs can make the team.

He certainly was a draftable player.

So fans now think our UDFA signings will make the roster?
Not only were we so stupid to let a quality NFL receiver go undrafted, even in the seventh round, and risk him signing elsewhere, but all 32 teams had no interest.

It could happen, but come on, guys…..a little perspective. Maybe just hope someone makes the PS first. As bad as we’ve been at WR since Cooper left, we haven’t even stolen a good receiver from someone else’s PS.

Traeshon Holden ran a 4.57-second 40-yard dash at the 2025 NFL Combine. He also had a 1.54-second 10-yard split, a broad jump of 10 feet, 3 inches, and a vertical jump of 32 inches.

He has big time potential for sure . Not sure why he dropped this way in the draft. Hope he is repented and makes the roster as he is a nightmare for cornerbacks.

Mr. Holden's October 13, 2024 apology:

To my Oregon family, I am truly sorry for letting you down. You have shown me the importance of teamwork, discipline and respect, and my actions in that moment did not reflect those core principles. I recognize that this has negatively affected our team's reputation and I deeply regret putting us in that situation.
To Ohio State, I offer my sincerest apologies for my behavior. It was completely unacceptable and a momentary lapse in judgment. I want to emphasize that this incident does not reflect who I am as a person or the value I am to uphold.
Moving forward, I am committed to making meaningful changes, not only in managing my emotions during competition but in setting a better example for my teammates and the broader community. I am determined to demonstrate growth and maturity, both on and off the field and I hope I can earn back the trust of those I've let down. This incident has been a valuable lesson, and I am dedicated to becoming a better person, teammate and a positive role model in our community.

I did notice the apology's tweet (link) can no longer be found. Wonder how soon it was taken down in relation to the draft? The incident is something that is not easily forgotten. Perhaps keeping it up may have better helped his drafting opportunity as a reminder of his true character.

I doubt those words were written by him.
Did he apologize to the Ohio player who was the victim of his disgusting act?
His "apology" doesn't even mention Ohio's Igbinoson.

Were allergic to drafting fast receivers. If you're faster than4.49, you're not getting drafted by us

Based on who we've got, I believe our receiver is Parris Campbell. Campbell dealt with injuries his first three seasons with Indy, but caught 63 passes for 623 yards and 3 TDs when he finally was healthy enough to play all 17 games. Then, he went to New York and had a bad year for some reason and went to Philly and was buried behind other players.

I mean, his best is better than anything Mingo has shown as a pro. Tolbert did put up almost as many yards on fewer catches (49) last year, though.

Now, I believe Turpin is going to be our No. 2 receiver contributionwise. I think the coaching staff finally saw what he could do when given the chance, so he'll be given more chances this year. He's got breakaway speed and elusiveness.

We really don't need bone heads like him on this squad. This team is full of undespline players. Then we wonder why we never get far. Penalties, botch plays, off season bs, same ole Cowboys mess.

He'll have his day early like every rookie free agent WR signed by the Cowboys.

After the 1st preseason game, we'll barely remember he ever existed.

Rookie free agents.........on rare occasions you find something special. Otherwise you find nothing at all.
