I do think Parsons was the guy all along

I know that could be the case and I have been doing since the late 90's with this team. But curious as to why you think so?
I think doing so, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. Parsons could end up being a good LB but he's got to learn how to do it in the pros first. His rookie season won't be great, he's on an uphill climb to get to where the Cowboys need him to be.

Well, if we’re going to just talk personal opinions.. then sure, I agree to an extent.

If you listen to every DC.com podcast like I do.. you’ll remember the talking heads within the organization commenting about whispers of Parsons being the pick also. This is all assumptions by everyone and really doesn’t matter. But if anyone thinks they truely know.. they’re lying to themselves.

All I can do is go by based on actions.

To sit here and say Parsons was the pick is like sitting here saying Dak Prescott was the pick in 2016. Sure there were whispers and we know the team did extensive research on Dak but why did they wait so late to take him? Why did they go so hard for Connor Cook and Paxton Lynch?

If Parsons for sure was the pick then why did they trade down after the corners were gone?

If Parsons for sure was the pick why did they trade BEHIND the Giants who could've drafted him?

Or was that a ploy to make sure teams Infront of them wouldn't take Parsons!!! So a bluff.....hmmm could it be?

There was no need to do that. Parsons was always going to be there at 10. Most people thought AT BEST one player would be taken in the top 10 on defense. The consensus was Surtain would be the first defensive player to go off the board.

I agree. I think you think I’m saying something I’m not.

I don’t think Parsons or anyone was the “Target”. As a matter of fact.. it was well documented how average this draft class was with the exception of Pitts and Lawrence. There was question marks for every defensive player in the first round. That’s why the options were wide open.. Only 6 defensive players were picked in the top 20! What I will say is.. I do believe Dallas drafted the consensus top defensive player in the draft tho.. and that’s good news for the worst Dallas defense in history.

Cowboys had zero intentions on trading up in this draft. Cowboys wanted the corners over Parsons. Do I think they thought there was a shot both would be gone? Yes. But like someone said, when the corners left is when they traded down.....
Taking Lamb last year and Parsons this year is two steps closer to taking the next step.
When you believe in your evaluations, your drafting staff, then you dont bust and you build.

You don’t trade down for a third to risk losing the guy you wanted all along
That's what I thought and they had to piss the Giants off with the Eagles taking their player and there is some here that think they knew the Giants were going to take the trade deal with the Bears.

It is still unknown for certain just what the plan was but the bleeding was coming form the run D and neither of those CB's was an answer to that.

There is something else that leads me to believe Parsons was the guy, Why would Booger even address players that opted out weren't getting considered as much as the ones that didn't unless he thought he was throwing the other teams off? I don't think GM's listen to the pre draft chatter but we still see some them trying to get cagey.
