Spencer's a guy who has taken some heat at various points this year, but has really come on strong in recent weeks. Still, the stats suggest he's kind of just a "meh" player.

It was nice to see something finally bounce his way today in that game-clinching interception.

Nice thought.
I think he is more than a JAG player.
MANY QB pressures. Strong on the run.
He did give up a big play today but made up for it at the end.
I am very satisfied how he has progressed this year.

Sooner or later he will get an official sack. He deserves it. He has made so many almost plays, I feel sorry for the guy. Hopefully, he will get there just once and the floodgates will open. He would be a great compliment to Ware and Ratliff if he becomes a sack threat.

He has been playing very well lately. He has been disruptive and physical.
It was great to see him finally come up with a big play. I totally thought he was going to collide with Ratliff and drop the INT. We FINALLY came up with one of those. Finally...

I have to agree.

A sack can cripple a drive and Spencer hasn't had ANY. Getting tons of pressures isn't enough IMO, cuz it can could lead to even bigger throws by mobile QB's who can escape and still make a play.

Yep. He is playing well.

Today I saw spencer and ware both come up limping more than once. that was scary.

Guys just want stats. Fans have gotten too caught up into the Fantasy football. Spencer is everywhere. Honestly? If Spencer had the same amount of sacks that Ware had? I'd say Spencer had the better year. He's everywhere. In pass coverage, on the run, rushing the quarterback. Doesn't have the sacks. At the OLB in a 3-4 I would love more sacks. But that guy is earning his check. I had him in the bust column next to Carpenter before this season. He's a solid player and if he can finish at the qb? He may be more than just a solid guy.

If I'm not mistaken, Spencer almost almost had a sack on the play where the refs reviewed the play where the stinks QB went OB and took the sack away. Looked like Spencer was the player that was running him down.

Yea they took it away. That's not the 1st one either this season lol. He's had a couple brought back. He was in on that one with Ware and I believe Brooking.

I thought the replay did show that campbell got rid of the ball just before stepping OB. It may have been discussed ad nauseum, but I have not read anything on why the play was reviewed to begin with. If the delay penalty did not count as a play, then I guess it was reviewable, but the reply official sure took an awful long time to decide to review the play. It was almost as if someone called him in the booth and told him to review it...just sayin'

someone on another board pointed this out,

spencer would've gotten his first sack when campbell ran out of bounds.

and they took it away from him.

guy just can't catch a break :p:

I think

Spencer:Ellis :: 2008 team:2009 team

One is flashy on the stat sheet but is whiny, selfish and one-dimensional.

The other is less spectacular but is tough, team-oriented, and well-rounded.

Less spectacular @ 1 thing.

I think we got a lot more athletic outside with Spencer.

He has been MORE than solid this year...

I think next year will be his breakout year as he has finally "gotten it"...

Nothing but upside for this kid...
