New England, Tampa Bay, Baltimore, and Denver all won Super Bowls without a HOF Wide Reciever. New York won on their defense and Plexico Burress was hurt most of the year and he is nowhere near as dominant as Terrell Owens.

You don't need a Hall of Fame Wide Receiver to win a Super Bowl.

To reiterate, the poster said we would be "medicore" without Terrell Owens and that is what I was debating.

Fair enough...

New England: They know how to put together a team top to bottom. One could argue that Deion Branch and Troy Brown were both very good 1.5s
Tampa Bay: Lucky...
Baltimore: INCREDIBLE defense... You don't see a defense that dominant very often.
Denver: IMO Rod Smith and Ed McCaffrey were both #1 receivers...

However, we've gone quiet some time without a trophy. With TO at his best we're not very far away. Take him away (inevitable since he is aging and will retire soon) and you've slipped back a few notches to the middle of the pack.

Plaxico was solid last season and was a major part of them getting to the dance.

You wear #81 jammies to bed and feel the need to pimp him in a #81 apology thread? Shall we, all the ex-haters mind you, forge a formal letter to the US Supreme court in order to satisfy your "curiosity" and absolve him of all wrong doing? That help your cause? It's over for most of us. Will you not be happy with a 5/1 turnover ratio? Contrary to your beliefs #81 ain't going to write you a letter of appreciation.

Dude, there's pure hatred for a select few on this team, by this board, and you are a #81 apologist. The need for you to polish his reputation is not needed. We get it.

ZZZ.. I recognize star power and our ticket to the trophy when I see it. I'm sorry you don't share the same view.

You'll never achieve the word "medicore" from Blue's lips when the equation includes #81. He's the know all end all. The second coming of God in a football uniform.

Have you purchased any popcorn lately? :p:

New England............minus the cheating? Who knows.

Tampa Bay........Incredible defense due to Chucky's knowledge of Da Radahs.

Balitimore.........Great defense AND Jamal lewis.

Denver...........Here's where you lose all credibility. Terrell Davis AND no Dan Reeves. The running game was the key ingredient for their success. C'mon man.

I'm not putting down owens abilities but you do realize that was a Rook WR
the eagles had on the field Monday night right? A very good QB and a decent running game can deal with not so great WRs.

Notice we were speaking strictly receivers.

In your little world, yes. In the grand scheme of winning the Lombardi, we talk the complete package.

I can't argue with that. Speaking solely on the demographics of the current Cowboys team, if you subtract TO we're mediocre. That's just my opinion.

If we're speaking in general, sure... a team can be a winner without a pure #1 WR. It definitely never hurts the cause though to have that gamebreaker on the corner that threatens to break the game open at any time. That instill fear.

That's a good trait. However, it's too small for all of us. Sayin?

Just for fun, we can't say we would be mediocre. Who knows what WR would be here if owens wasn't. Granted not any one as talented but there are several great WRs in the legue. Notice when owens was basicaly taken out of the second half we turned to that lousy (tounge in cheek)TE we have.
Now if we didn't have a great QB we would very well be mediocre, for some reason even with owens a QB like Carter would be lousy.:D

Owens set all of that up with the sheer abuse of their secondary in the first half. It's not all Owens. The combination of Romo and Owens is stellar. It's a shame we won't get to see it any longer than a few more years if we're lucky.

I don't remember the part in the by laws where it said my world had to please anyone else but yours truly. Please direct me to that section.
