I gave up on my team last night

After 40 years of being a Cowboys fan, I willingly turned a game off before it finished. I have ALWAYS watched a Cowboys game to the bitter end despite the outcome. Not sure why I have always watched a game to the end even in blowouts, maybe it's been morbid curiosity in a lot of cases.

I shut it off after the Cowboys last series of the 3rd quarter and did not think about it afterwards. Woke up this morning and didn't bother looking at the final score or box score. Did the Cowboys make a furious comeback? So far this morning, I have not bothered to check.

Am I depressed? No I think the word is apathetic at this point.

Now at some point today, I will check that box score, and I will read about the game, and I will start to look forward to the Cowboys-Packers game.

Something changed with me and my fan relationship with the Cowboys last night.

You finished watching the seahawks and bears games last year? And the saints game this year? I refuse to watch crap like that.

I turned it off at the 3rd qtr as well. I sat there thinking " why bother watching this crap? Why invest my time on this? " There was no reason..

Put in the GTA5 and went to town. LOL

Yep ... walk out. When the product is bad ... why buy it?

How does that matter? Jerry's already got your money; he doesn't care if you walk out at halftime. What needs to happen is NOT BUY IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. Let the place be empty when the game starts. But even that wouldn't help....the opposing team's fans would probably snap up the tickets and Jerry still has a smile on his face.

I still watched to the end. I did consider turning it off but I refused. I won't let them break me. I'm going to watch every minute of every game possible regardless.

This is not the team I fell in love with 45 years ago.

I totally agree.

For me it happened sometime in the middle of last season. I just watch now like it is a TV show. No emotion, .. I don't yell at them, I don't cheer.

When I heard about Tom Landry dying a Giants fan, something snapped inside me.

I will NEVER cheer for any other team, but I have lost interest in the current Cowboys.

I loved last weekend when they didn't play, .. it was easier and more pleasant.

(I do still watch every play of every game, .. I just don't expect anything)

That's about all one needs to know. Tom Landry died a Giants fan. It would be laughable if it wasn't so sad. Even he couldn't stand it anymore & he wasn't just a casual Cowboy guy. He had real blood & sweat invested in the team. And it was just too much.

I said it before, other the just pride, why should Jerry care if the Cowboys win or not. I almost guarantee there will be 80,000 + fans next home game. Until the fans stop wasting their money on this team, nothing will change

WOW...OMG. I can understand why, but I didn't know that; hadn't heard it before.

This is coming from Mrs. Landry. She said Tom died a Giants fan. There is a book out there but I do not know the title.

He did play for them but well it's a sad commentary.

WOW...OMG. I can understand why, but I didn't know that; hadn't heard it before.

His wife came out and said it about a month or so ago in a new book or something.

I'm serious, .. when I read that, I physically felt something happen in my heart. I had an audile response like, .. "oooh!" It was not a word, but just a moan or something.

I have endured enough. This is not fun. Sticking with Dallas through this mess is not being loyal, it's being dumb.

All that is left of the team that I fell in love with is gone, except for the 'blue star'.
