Yep. Don't know exactly why I put my self through games like that, but I did. Something happened last night though that made me just turn it off. The wife looked at me like she saw a ghost when I came bed and she asked what the score was and I said, "I don't really know, the games not over yet".

I watched the whole bucket of crap, .. when I came to bed my wife asked me, .. "are we happy or sad?"

I said, "numb."

I was proably 12 or 13 when I became a Cowboys fan, .. she has been with me since I was 17. She hurts for me.

She has been with me throughout this whole ordeal.

Sad thing for me is that a potential opportunity came up that would make live abroad for about a year. I was originally bummed that I'd miss the Cowboys next season but after last night I found myself thinking that I wasnt going to miss much anyway. I've come to expect mediocrity and failure out of this team.

Jerra half his money.
Romo half his money.
We get to see a team that pretty much gave up.

Sooner or later you know it is going to happen.

I hate it, but that is the way it is.

Just got back from running a few errands and decided to Google this thing about Landry dying a Giants fan. Here's the story:

After 40 years of being a Cowboys fan, I willingly turned a game off before it finished. I have ALWAYS watched a Cowboys game to the bitter end despite the outcome. Not sure why I have always watched a game to the end even in blowouts, maybe it's been morbid curiosity in a lot of cases.

I shut it off after the Cowboys last series of the 3rd quarter and did not think about it afterwards. Woke up this morning and didn't bother looking at the final score or box score. Did the Cowboys make a furious comeback? So far this morning, I have not bothered to check.

Am I depressed? No I think the word is apathetic at this point.

Now at some point today, I will check that box score, and I will read about the game, and I will start to look forward to the Cowboys-Packers game.

Something changed with me and my fan relationship with the Cowboys last night.

For the LAST 3 games as there will be no playoffs, I will record the games, and if they lose I will delete them without watching. I wasted last night watching, shame on me.

You probably expected too much from the team at the start of the season. The FANS as I call them who get the most down are the ones who continue to overestimate the Cowboys. Prior to last nights game a FAN started a thread saying the Cowboys can win the SB. The reality is the Cowboys may struggle to win another game the rest of the season with their defense that's been one of the worst in NFL history after 13 games. The voices of reason here are considerably out numbered by the FANS who continue to scoff at anything they deem less than optimistic. I wasn't that surprised by what I saw last night I posted on the board prior to the game about the negative trend the Cowboys have developed since 08 after winning on Thanksgiving. Naturally some scoff at trends claiming what continues to happen year after year means nothing. The defense normally starts to crumble once Dec arrives and this year the defense has been pathetic all season.

With all the injuries on defense and having scrubs just brought in off the street to play it wasn't a shock to see the defense once again get shredded even by a career backup QB in below zero wind chill. It was obvious after the first 5 weeks of the season that consistency and the defense was again going to be a real issue. I've become numb to what's going on with the Cowboys because we see this every season and none of the moves the team made during the offseason pointed to a change in the right direction in my opinion. It was changes to make changes which has the Cowboys continuing to spin their wheels in mediocrity.

Whew! ... I'm feeling a lot better now, ... Jerry says we are going to ride Romo and our running game to a "storybook finish" !!

I was at the game and left a few minutes into the 4th. It was too damn cold to stick around and smell that mess coming from the field.

When I first heard that Landry died a Giants fine I was like "really Tom? How could you?", but after reading that article I am like "really Jerry? How could you!?"

I did the same exact thing last night and today. I was totally disgusted with the lack of effort on the defensive side of the ball. Watch Bruce Carter jogging on the field after Forte ran past him was the final straw. I have to say, NEVER have I shut off a game, until last night. I'm still a fan, but that just plain hurt watching the team get abused the way they did by a mediocre team. It's sad how even the most pedestrian of QB's look like a pro bowler when they are playing our defense. The best way to some up the way last night felt was having your high school sweetheart cheating on you with your best friend.... :(

I hope that was just a hypothetical example, .. and you weren't speaking from experience.

It's all perception and I bet cha 90% of the people who know Jerry would disagree with Ms. Landry.

Was a hard game to get up for. I had no emotion. I watched it all but i don’t blame anyone for turning that one off. It was a stinker. There was no chance the Cowboys were going to win with that defense.

Extremely rare for me to turn off a cowboys game, but mid 3rd quarter I fired up the ps4 and left the game on in the background. Sad times...

Welcome to the last 10yrs of my life. It was something around the campo era that allowed me to let losses go. You prove it on the field or don't. No more conspiracies, no more yelling at the tv, no more monday morning blues. If you're not good enough, than so be it. I've taken that theory with me with sports in general. The sport before my favorite teams.

I'm 40 and this is only the second time I didn't watch the game until it was over (this years Saints game was the other). I turned it off at halftime and just went to bed. I'll be cheering come Sunday and watching, I'm not giving up I enjoy the game and love watching it too much to quit.

I was already really tired, so at halftime I made sure the DVR was going and went to bed, knowing where this game was going. Next morning first thing I zipped through the second half, and just kept saying "yep, knew it" to myself. I knew that whoever punted more in the game was going to be the loser, but that was freaking ridiculous. Not. A. Single. Drive. Stopped. NOT ONE. Just. Wow.
