I am drooling over that pic, and thats not even great okra.

I prefer it slightly over fried and brown with that crispiness when you bite into it, I am having okra tonight, this thread made me hungry.

Bingo.

A lot of these restaurants don't know how to make good fried okra. The crust is almost doughy, way too soft and spongy.

The way I like it and the way my grandmother made it is to use a very light corn meal coating and fry it until it's crispy. Much, much better that way.

For lunch I went to a local Safeway that has a deli counter. I intended to get some friend okra with my chicken. They didn't have any.

I hold you personally responsible for the craving I am suffering with right now.

When I lived up North, Wegman's would carry it from time to time.

taco bell is amazing when it is actually fresh, a chicken chalupa is borderline orgasmic when it is fresh hot and good.

Taco bell sucks though as a hole(pun intended). Fast food is supposed to be consistently the same thing, taco bell fails completely on that count.

Out here we have real Mexican food places that are open 24 hours a day, have better food than Taco Bell for much better prices.

Better food, more food, for less price, open 24/7. Don't tell me about location. Having to eat Taco Bell means yours is no good.

See it is about location, down here on my side of town in houston, these mexican restuarnts will kill you before they serve you good food. So taco bell is what i resort too. And when its hot and fresh only one chain of fast food is better, and thats Burger King :D

But i'm also a fast food junkie so meh, i might be a little bias

Well, if you watched "Demolition Man", Taco Bell ends up winning the Fast Food Wars, so maybe you have it right while everyone else is just behind the times.

It's like that all over this town man. There's an amazing place here called Mi Nidito. It is so good that President Clinton had heard of it and asked to eat there when he was here on a visit. They named a plate there the Presidential Plate in honor of his visit.

It consists of all the foods he ordered.

Bean tostado, birria (spiced shredded beef) taco, chile relleno, chicken enchilada, and a beef tamale.

It is a mountainous plate of food. I think it's like $10.50.

Fried okra and pickled okra are good.
If I were in the food business, here is what I would invent.

Fried Pickles = good
Fried Okra = amazing
Pickled Okra = nothing better

Therefore... fried pickled okra. I demand whoever on this board starts making this stuff give me a 50% cut of the millions that will follow.
