Romo needs to Gomo. I've stood by the man for years. When he went down in '08 and we played atrocious, I thought it was a testament to how much Romo means to us. However, Romo went down last year but we had success under a completely dysfunctional coaching staff. We have solid backup QBs now. Romo isn't why this team has been competitive recently. In fact, I think Romo is the sole reason why we have been a laughing stock. The man is average and doesn't have a clutch bone in his body. Sure, we may be a decent team. We might go 10-6 or something. But with Tony Romo at the helm, we're not taking any significant strides as a franchise. Put in McGee.

Can someone just explain to my why Romo has to be flawless why Rivers, Ben and Ryan all had 2+ turn overs and nobody cares?

To those blaming Dez :lmao:... Why in the world would you throw to a receiver who's been banged up and clearly playing at 50 %, who's going up against the best shutdown corner in the game? and not to mention had safety help over the top... continue to make me laugh folks.

This game will show you that the little things will kill you.

Punt blocks shouldn't happen in this league. Our secondary got torched. Way too many penalties. Romo gave the ball away twice late.

It's a long season, fellas, but this one is going to sting a bit.

will some one please show Tony how to protect the ball - on running plays

Not sure I understand the question. If it's how I read it, it sounds stupid. Okay, he fumbled on his run play. Bad play, but what does it have to do with ALL running plays?

It's always an unpopular opinion, and Romo will always have his supporters, but he's 6 years in as a starter and still the exact same guy making stupid errors when you need him the most.

1. I'm not saying cut him or start either of our other QB's...he's a very good QB, but he shows no sign that he'll ever be a winner...great stat guy, but always a bonehead. He should never run into a tough situation...he's always been a fumbler in contact. And that pass...doesn't matter what he thought Bryant would do...cannot have that happen in that situation.

Funny...the snap he wasn't ready for we used to blame on Gurode..but the whole offense took off, including the receivers...on another 2nd and short, he killed the play with frantic panic and confusion...you have a young OL...just run the freakin' play.

Romo is an above average QB, and we'd stink without him, but why this many years into his career as a starter would anyone think he's actually going to be anything other than what he's shown us all along...nice stat guy who can't get it done.

2. I couldn't be more proud of the rest of the team, every single one of them. OL was far beyond my expectations...how refreshing to see so many times when Romo held the ball and jumped all around frantically, but no holding penalties...WOW. Austin and Bryant before injury were winning battles with the CBs...Felix ran hard. Should have scored even more points if not for Romo...though I have to wonder why Witten didn't put his stiff arm out on DB and get into end zone...weird.

The defense was incredible...yes, they gave up some points and plays when Jenkins was out, playing with 4th and 5th CBs and safeties...but they played their guts out, and I'm so proud of Jenkins for battling and coming back time and again...That neck bend when he led with his head looked like a spinal injury...then the hit by Burris...either of those could have put a guy out for the game...and he was still battling.

3. Bryant looked like he either quit or ran out of gas or was injured...not sure why he was even out there down the stretch the way he looked.

This game was lost for one reason...Romo fumble, almost before even being hit when all we needed was a fg for a 10 pt. lead and that incredible midfield int...

I still love the way he throws the ball and scrambles around, but when you need him most, he's the same Romo he was as a rookie...he's going to give games away that you need to win.

Just my opinion...proud of my Cowboys.

I should have known better than to log onto this forum so soon after a heartbreaker.

Yeah, nevermind the 300+ yard and 2td performance against one of the most elite defenses in the league, let's focus on a fluke fumble when the guy is doing his all to try to make a play for us to seal the deal. I can understand being upset at the INT at the end, but to blame Romo 100% for the flukey turn of events that also included a blocked punt for a TD is ridiculous.

Without Romo we wouldn't have even been in the position to win the game and up 14pts in the 4th...Romo owns some of this loss for sure, but to make such a knee-jerk reaction after all that happened is ridiculous.

It doesn't matter how you spin this- tonight's game was all on Romo. QB can't make mistake.

Yeah exactly...he can't make ANY mistakes or it's game over for this team and it's unfair to blame it all on him. He put up HUGE numbers against the best D in the league with no defense and zero running game.

Because we do not care about San Diego, Pittsburgh, or Atlanta. We are Cowboy fans. Romo choked and cost us the game with his fumble and INT.

oh come on, all you romo haters are just stating your case because yes it is easy to in this game because that fumble was not good and the int, well bryant ran a bad route and honestly the coaching staff should not of had him in there because it was easy to see he was slow and could not jump.

The blocked punt was a game changer.
The interference by Witten was terrible.
The starting 3 CBs out for most of the game hurt real bad.

Romo definately had his errors and the timing of them could be argued as the reason for our loss, but there were alot more areas that were bigger.

Other than that, I am pleased with the team's performance both on offense and defense. Jets are a great team and we were a few errors from beating them.

Fair or unfair, the quarterback gets more credit than he deserves and more blame too. But your quarterback simply can't make those mistakes because he's the general of your team. Nobody really expects the punt team to make or break a game. Nobody expects or puts the weight of the team on whether a punt coverage guy wins the game.

But they do the quarterback. I like Romo. I think he's a very good quarterback. But he simply can't make the mistakes he did.

He handles the ball on every offensive play. He has to make wise decisions.

He simply CANNOT turn over the ball when we're driving for a win.

He has to know the personnel and whether they can or can't perform. Dez could not perform. Everyone saw that. Romo needs to live for another down. He got sloppy, and he paid for it.

Aside from that, I agree with you. I'm still encouraged by this team. I think the Cowboys will bounce back. The Jets aren't slouches. And they were playing with emotion and the home field advantage.

This is Garrett and Romo's disaster actually.

Up 14 points and at our opponents 3 with the ball. How do you not run? Get at least that 3 points?

Romo? He needs to hold onto that rock at all costs there and he should know that.

Both these guys deserve this 4th quarter meltdown criticism whether a punt got blocked or Dez Bryant didn't come back on that throw.

Why go after Revis when Cromartie was taking his lumps from both our guys all night?

The criticism is well deserved. It's almost like these guys are actors.

Cut the crap. Romo is a great QB, but people who play this non-sequiter BS after his mistakes drives me absolutely mad. He GAVE A WIN AWAY, and this is coming from someone who has literally never called him out once on these boards. I have called out everyone but him until now, but this was ALL ON HIM, and no about of deflection will change that.
thank you.

And just think, had Dallas found a way to pull this game out, this would be a "I love Tony Romo" thread.

He will be a hero soon enough.......just as long as the rest of the team improves also.

I mean their fans don't care. Because their QBs can have a turnover without it being the end of the freakin world.

Why ROMO! IT WAS FIRST DOWN BRA... You JUST DIDN'T HAVE TO FORCE THAT THROW.

We had been riding Witten all 2nd half long and then he goes and throws right at Revis into double coverage and on first down. KICKING MY HEAD IN.

And he then goes off the field with his head down!
