Pot meet kettle. If you think you're emotionally detached from Romo then you're the King of de Nile!

I'm completely detached from Romo. Just honest with what I see. The majority of people out there believe he is a choker, I share that opinion. You on the other hand think he is elite. So yeah, pot meet kettle.

I know he's elite and his stats say so. But you're entitled to your opinion to the contrary. Just don't try and sell me you're not totally invested in seldom if ever missing a chance to beat on Romo deserved or not. Cause that dog don't hunt.

So Cowboys fans that were sad when Staubach retired as he cried in front of the camera on that day? we all homers? Yes fans do get emotionally invested in players but many of us know their time in this league is limited. To you they may just be numbers on a jersey? to others they are our boys, they are the ones who put their body on the line each game

Roger, Troy , Irvin , etc, were different . I am sure that many posters will disagree, but I have a much higher level of respect for players that helped the Cowboys to Super Bowl wins. For some reason I don't think as highly of Ware as I do the guys with the rings.

I give credit to Romo for being a good QB , but he is one of the players that I can take or leave. I don't think the stats tell the whole story.

It sure bothered me, but I was like hell we released Emmitt who is all time leader at his position this guy was great but he seemed too never make his mark when the game was on the line.

I think it was a mistake. I do not think he is done by a long shot. I understand why he was released and how much it helps us on the Cap, but frankly his release is what makes me most nervous about 2014.

Just think how nervous you would be if they paid Ware to come back and his injury problems put him in a position like this last season. It was more gut-wrenching watching Ware hobble through games and being very ineffective IMO. For the potential drop in talent, at least the team is getting some healthy security from young players that should be the future at the position.

I saw a guy who was still pressuring the QB, but injuries prevented him from getting the kill shot. I'm not so sure he's as washed up as some people claim. He was just injured.

That is my point. It seems like the injuries are something that has become an expected problem with Ware. I think the DE position was tougher on his body and he started to break down physically. It would be a big gamble to depend on him. I would rather see the team get rid of these gambles a year early than to hang on two or three years too late.

I can't say it was the wrong move. I also can't say it was the right move. I can say I didn't like the move. That's my beef with the Salary Cap though.

Personally, I had no inclination to shed tears when Ware left. Pro football is a business and as such, business decisions must be made. It was high time to part with DeMarcus in view of his contract in relation to his diminished returns and his inability to stay healthy for the last 2 yrs. The main connection I have emotionally with this team is the team itself, as opposed to any one individual player. That's just me, though. To each his own.

Ideally, they could have kept Ware on for another year to see what he has left. On of the impacts of his departure is that the Cowboys felt they had to get a RDE high this year, so they gave up their 3rd round pick to get Lawrence. If Ware was still here, they wouldn't have had to make that move. They probably could have waited another year to draft a RDE. The 2015 draft looks like it has some good RDE prospects.

There would be far reaching cap implications if they had. Right now, rather or not they admit it or not, the Cowboys are rebuilding - it's very difficult to bring in talent when you are constantly having to battle with a cap-ceiling and other teams that the top tier free agents would rather play for will also pay them more.
