There is no Crying on this board or among the Cowboys faithful!

Man, get a hold of yourself! If you half to shed tears, make them tears of joy for ridding a expensive guy who is worn down and of no more use to us or as the broncos will find out, to them either.
So stop it or I will half to tell your gf to slap you hard, real hard!

Sure. NY Giants this season will be putting in a new offense, Washington a whole new staff and Philly will be in the 2nd year of Kelly. I think East is up for grabs but I also think we will be in the mix. As bad as we were we still went 5-1 in the NFC East. So while I don't think it is a given we will win I do expect the Cowboys to compete and if the fail then of course I will be disappointed

The NFCE is a tough nut to crack; it is anybody guess who the team to beat is - though, most are leaning towards Philly, my vote would be the Commanders. I realize we had alot of success against them last year, but because of the changes that are happening across the board, for every team - including the Cowboys - you can't look at that success and automatically predict a repeat performance.

To me to be a REAL fan of a team - you take the ups and downs; you accept the good and bad. You give all your emotion and support to those that give all they have on the field and do not disgrace the team off of it. And when one of those that truly are great players and fine people as well goes I feel sad. And regret. And then work to remember the great plays and great games that player had and wish him the best for whatever comes after being a cowboy.

DeWare to me epitomizes what I want our Cowboys to be. Just like Bob Lilly two generations ago. Like Roger and The Coach. I knew we were probably going to let him go and sadly by cold hard bean counting numbers it was the right thing to do. Another reason I hate the Cap. We have to let our best go sometimes when we would much rather they stay.

Ware made a business decision to take the money from somewhere else. He had no loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys. I wish him well, but I don't shed a tear. If we'd have extended him I might have shed some tears.

Could happen, Skins are going throught an entire coaching staff change with Jay Gruden.

Both sides made a business decision. I'm not saying any tears should be shed but I don't see where he did the Cowboys wrong or that they did him wrong.

Kind of hard to say no to $5 million PER YEAR which is what DeWare was offered more than what Jerruh offered. At least that is what I heard the difference was.

Dallas was already paying him more than that but needed him to reduce his salary or else we would not keep him especially give the fact that his production fell a lot over the past 1 and a half due to injury. I don't blame Ware for leaving and signing with Denver but I think Dallas did right by him but in the end had to do right for the team

When he said the NFCE is "a tough nut to crack", I don't think he meant that the Division was tough, .. just that it would be tough to predict the winner, or what order they would finish .. 1 through 4.

I could be mistaken though.

There is an issue with your premise, it's an assertion Aikman recently coined, as well: That the Cowboy's can't be worse than last year. I've actually had this debate with a few people already. The truth is there is no bottom to how bad a defense can be...it very well could be worse. Another unfortunate truth is that guy's with injury histories are more susceptible to injury - so you can also expect that we will once again have to do without players - injuries are a very big part of the game, but the Cowboys are gambling on quite a few players to beat those odds. Lastly, three of the players that kept the defense worthy of respect, three players that OC's had to account for when putting together a gameplan, are now gone - Ware and Hatcher via free agency and Lee due to season ending injury. And that is why I lean a little towards the pessimistic side, as far as the defense is concerned.

One point that needs to be considered is that the defense may improve from dead last in the league to a 25th ranking, but it could actually be worse when it comes to winning games. There are plenty of legit concerns at so many positions. The one player that should really stand out in this scheme is Melton and he is coming off a knee injury. He has never had as good of a season as Hatcher had last season. Other than starting the season with what should be a healthy defense, I don't see where the talent has been upgraded at all. As it stands, the defense is depending on mostly young , unproven players that are coming off injuries. I hoped that the draft would have provided more upgrades in the early rounds, but it didn't work out that way.

I don't blame you man, Ware was to a point the Dallas Cowboys defense. He been there so many, did so much hard work and was a great leader while his time in Dallas. I was shocked when they released him I thought he was going to stay there forever. I wish him best of luck in Denver and when he retires I hope he signs with the Cowboys like others has done in the NFL.

Ware in my opinion will always be a Dallas Cowboy at heart.

I must say, that's a sweet-looking picture. :)

It is unpopular with posters, but this is true. Today's players have loyalty to one thing, MONEY. Very few of these players care about what team they play for ,or the fans. They are hired guns , going to the highest bidder. This is caused by the system and free agency. The owners are looking at money just like the players. It is a greedy sport.

Initially, I thought I didn't want to know, but you're right, .. it's good to know for future reference.

Sometimes it amazes me the things people do, ... like a grown man driving around crying when Ware was released, ... but even more amazing to me is that they turn around and tell everyone what they did.

Some things are better kept to yourself.

Like the time a guy I used to work with told us all that he sat down with his son when he turned 13, and took him through a Hustler magazine page by page. Or when he told us when he jerked his other son's diaper off and lit him up when he couldn't get to sleep on Christmas eve.

First, I couldn't believe he did those things, .. but mostly couldn't believe he told everyone that he did.

Maybe it's just me.

Yeah those examples aren't really the same thing.

A guy posts on a Cowboys message board, in the offseason about getting emotional about a Cowboys player. Seems like the appropriate place to vent, IMO.

Guy was probably just seeking to share his experience with like-minded people... like what you do on this forum.

When he wasn't a Cowboy any longer, I put his Thanksgiving Day jersey in a big frame above my TV. Took a picture, and sulked.

Took a nice long nap, woke up, and sulked some more.

My advise is to lightin up. Eat more fiber, drink lots of water and you will feel mush better in a day or so.
Also, pull slightly and untangle that wad.
No charge for the advise.
