Yeah those examples aren't really the same thing.

Right, they aren't the same thing, .. they were never meant to be the same thing.

They were just other examples of people doing something by themselves that I found hard to believe, .. and then they turned around and told everyone that they did.

I felt I explained that in my post.

I also shared that, .. "maybe it's just me", .. you don't have to get it, or agree.

The day DeMarcus Ware was released as a Dallas Cowboy I shed a tear. I rode around for a few hours and cried when I got home and my gf asked what was wrong I said it was allergies. It was time to move on though.

No more tears, just bad salary management move by a cap strapped franchise and poorly ran excuse for a front office and franchise.

It would the correct move for the Cowboys regardless of what he does in Denver.

It would have been the correct move had the Cowboys had a solid replacement for him. The move was forced due to Ware's injury history the past couple of seasons and the Cowboys cap situation. It was a move that could have been avoided had Jerry not overpaid several players. Had he not gone overboard with Austin's extension of $57 million after one good season in 09 or made him validate his performance the following year which he didn't do the Cowboys cap situation would have been a little better. Had he waited to see if Lee was capable of playing a full season before extending him to a lucrative deal prior to last season it wouldn't have forced Jerry's hand with Ware. Jerry overpaid Scandrick ($28 million) and Sensabagh ($25 million) neither player was worth that kind of money. He had no choice but to break the bank with Romo's extension despite him having only one playoff win because you can't win without a productive QB.

Had Jerry waited to extend Lee he could have signed him for a lot less than he did. No team was going to offer Lee a big contact after missing 18 games in only 4 seasons. He dropped in the draft because of injury concerns and has been more injury prone as a pro than anyone even imagined. The guy can't be depended on he'll be lucky if his body holds up until he's 30-31. I stated that 2 weeks prior to his season ending injury. As good a player as Lee is I would have let him walk before Ware because Ware isn't standing on the sidelines in street clothes every season missing games. Even a 50% Demarcus Ware has to be accounted for by opponents.

Prior to Ware's injuries last season he was off to one of the best starts of his career. Only 2 other times did he ever start a season with 4 sacks in his first 3 games. He also had an int in the win over the Giants in the season opener. I can't recall the Cowboys losing their 3 best players on one side of the ball during one off season. It's looking like Jerry's decision to not resign Ware and Hatcher has blown up in his face with the loss of Lee for the season. I'm sure he figured Lee would be lost at some point during the season but not for the entire season. Both Ware and Hatcher would still be here had Jerry not overpaid several players.

You said it. I thought you were talking about Romo at first. :)

No. I'm just talking about fans who are emotionally invested in players and it blinds them to the truth. These fans are typically labeled homers. If you keep an eye out you may see them. :D

Pot meet kettle. If you think you're emotionally detached from Romo then you're the King of de Nile!

So Cowboys fans that were sad when Staubach retired as he cried in front of the camera on that day? we all homers? Yes fans do get emotionally invested in players but many of us know their time in this league is limited. To you they may just be numbers on a jersey? to others they are our boys, they are the ones who put their body on the line each game

One point that needs to be considered is that the defense may improve from dead last in the league to a 25th ranking, but it could actually be worse when it comes to winning games. There are plenty of legit concerns at so many positions. The one player that should really stand out in this scheme is Melton and he is coming off a knee injury. He has never had as good of a season as Hatcher had last season. Other than starting the season with what should be a healthy defense, I don't see where the talent has been upgraded at all. As it stands, the defense is depending on mostly young , unproven players that are coming off injuries. I hoped that the draft would have provided more upgrades in the early rounds, but it didn't work out that way.

I honestly have no idea what to expect at this point. But when you consider how little they were able to do in Free Agency, due to the cap, and the draft, due to guys coming off the board prior to their pick, it's really hard get excited about that side of the ball. The offense, however, is a different story.

Romo is so in your little head that it's pretty pathetic....and you say you are not emotionally invested? Yeah, right...Rampage!

I appreciate the dudes honesty about crying over D Ware. I don't cry over players or losses. I'm not judging those who do, but I just don't do it. Love the Cowboys as much as anyone, but I just feel there are more important things in life to cry over.

I appreciate Ware's service to the Cowboys, both on and off the field, but I don't feel like he was ever a dominant player. He piled up sacks over the years but never felt like he took a game over or came up with a big play late in the game when we needed one. That's just my opinion.

He made some big plays late. He would have been even more of a terror with more help. But I generally agree with your point.
