I have reconsidered my position on Dez. I wanted him cut but we may be better off having Dez take a pay cut commensurate with his ability. He needs the same salary we paid Thompson and make him our #4 wide out. He would be a pretty decent #4 WR.

I would be ok with that. He’s certainly not worth what he’s getting paid. Last year he was absolutely a bust.

Let’s be honest though a part of that is not having Romo and the type of offense we’re running. Since 2014 Dez only appeared in 4 games with Romo. I’ve repeated many times if Dez is released and goes to a team like the Pats his numbers will far exceed what he’s produced with Dak health permitting. Those back door fades they’ve been missing on will be TDs with Brady.

This is no knock on Dak but the chemistry between he and Dez hasn’t been there and this offense doesn’t get the most out of Dez. His skills have declined some but if he’s on the right team with the right QB and can regain his focus he’ll have a productive season. Book it!

I did want Dez cut but you guys have won me over. I think he can be a number 4 receiver. I'm giving you guys a little credit for moving the needle over ever so slightly. That is provided that we pay him the same as Thompson. You can't pay big money on a long shot.
