It's cool, sorry if I sounded pissy.

I'm excited, just restless that it's taking this long for the regular season.

Every damn preseason it's the same thing. Apparently, losing a game when you're 3rd stringers are playing their 3rd stringers is a sign of regular season success to some of you guys.

You DO realize that 7 Super Bowl Champions went winless in the preseason? Including Dallas twice?

Our first team DOMINATED on both sides of the ball in the first quarter. That's all that should matter. We dominated arguably the most talented team in football. What our 2nd stringers did against their first stringers means NOTHING unless you think we will have 22 guys on IR come september.

I agree but you have to realize at cowboyszone.com, preseason is meaningless when you win but means everything when you lose.

I agree.

It's always like this on Cowboys forums during the Pre Season.

Imagine if Romo would have looked bad, this place would be a mess right about now.

First team offense and defense looked good.

Barber, Jones, and Choice looked good.

Jenkins had a nice pass breakup.

Bigg had a sick pull where he took out two guys.

No Injuries.

For the love of God, dude, it's "special" teams

And name one game we lost last year because of special teams?

You don't lose any game for one singular reason. There are always several contributing factors, mistakes and bad plays. If you want to know when was the last time crappy special teams coverage contributed to a Cowoys loss, it would be when they lost the Giants in the playoffs last year when they gave Hixon almost 100 kick return yards on only 3 returns and gave RW McQuarters a 25 yard punt return.

I don't understand the point of this thread. If anything annoys me more than the complainers, its the people who complain about the complainers.

That and people who hate on the haters. :p:

I posted this exact same thing @ the DC.com boards[yuck] a few years ago and got hated on by EVERYONE. People like to complain about the complainers to try to look cool I guess? Trying to fit into the message board clique's? Who knows..:)

I'm excited about Felix...So many possibilities !!

You can't guage anything from preseason games, though fans will never cease trying.

It's a mistake to try to measure yourself against another team in preseason. Teams are holding out key players. (TO for example for you guys, LT, McNeill, Gates, and Castillo for us.) That's pretty significant, don't you think? They play base defenses and offenses. How can you honestly gauge yourself against a team when you're not really playing that team and the team you're playing isn't "playing to win?"

Do you think Chargers defense was giving it all they had early on? I don't think that any more than I think the Chargers saw every blitz package the Cowboys are keeping under wraps.

We have this same thing going on at the Chargers' board. "OMG, we can't stop the run!" or, "OMG, we beat the Cowboys by 14!!"

It's glorified practice and if you take the attitude that it's completely, utterly useless to make any predictions based on preseason you will find yourself making a lot fewer completely utterly, useless predictions. Your first-string offense played better than our first-string defense. You know who else's first string offense dominated our first string defense last year? The Cardinals.

Obviously I'm not saying you guys are the Cardinals, but people really gotta learn that preseason is "non-football." It's just a way for players to prepare.

Personally, I can't remember the last time I watched an "exciting" preseason game

Oh...C'mon that game where Parcell's had the "most Accurate Kicker in History" try to kick the field goal 22 times in a row was darn exciting. If only because it was 50/50 whether Bill would have a massive aneurysm or strangle the frigtard first. You cannot buy excitement like that. That was the Get Your Popcorn ready moment of the season.

The fakelikeyouregonnaspikeitbutsneakitin thing against the Raiders a few years back was somewhat exciting. That's when we discovered there was something different about that Romo kid.

Dude, if it doesnt matter why are you making it sound like we dominated the "most" talented team, which they arent. Did you miss that they didnt start their 3 best players and were tied 7-7 vs. our starters, 14-7 by the start of the 2nd? I wonder how good that makes them feel! Some SD fan is probably saying "we held or own vs, the MOST talented team without Gates, LT and Jackson to name a few vs. their FIRST team".

Of course it doesnt matter. But, lets be honest.

Our starters against their starters? Don't think so!

Norv Turner sat 8 of his 11 starters on Offense!

San Diego did not even suit up RB LaDanian Tomlinson, TE Antonio Gates, LT Marcus McNeill, WR Vincent Jackson, C Nick Hardwick, FB Andrew Pinnock, WR Billy Pittman, or WR Legedu Naanee.

Not a very good test of our first string D, in this game, I think!
Pretty bad of Norv Turner too.

If you're not concerned about our special teams, you're not paying attention. They were dog crap last year, and they look even worse tonight. Including our 1st team coverage unit ... ESPECIALLY our first team coverage unit.
I agree...I am really concerned about our ST play. I never thought I'd actually miss Bruce DeHaven but even the crappy job he did coaching ST looks good next to what we have now.
