I just want to start by saying that I am going to be cheering on the Chiefs as 1. I have a couple of personal bets involving the Eagles and 2. I lived in KC for a year.

With that being said, let's face it. Philly has a 50% chance of winning. There's a very real possibility that the Eagles are going to win a second Super Bowl, and that would be bad for us in the short term. However, as much of an inconvenience that this would be, I can't help but wonder if it might be good for the Cowboys in the long run. I know that the first Eagles SB didn't wake Jerry up. However, if the Eagles can tear that team down and build another champion in a short period of time, then maybe that can wake Jerry up. Maybe then he can understand how badly he's run being a GM.

Perhaps an Eagles win might help Jerry understand that we need the draft, trades in and out, AND FA to win SBs. Will it? Who knows. But what if the Eagles winning actually ends up waking up Jerry or Stephen?

Just some random morning thoughts
The first E-Goons SB didn't wake Jerry up, and neither will this one if the Eagles win. He won't wake up until they've tied us with 5 SB wins, and even that is questionable.

We are seeing in real time that the GM is THE most important position in a NFL Franchise.
The Eagles are running circles around the Cowboys, while Jerry is counting his Millions.

Did it help the Cowboys out after the giants won 2 SBs?
No.
The eagles winning 2 SBs would do nothing to kick the Cowboys into making things happen at all.

Even if it did wake Jerry up, it won't make much of a difference. He's got roughly $55 million tied up in Dak and Zeke for 2023-24. He's going to need to be super creative just to maintain our lofty 2nd place status. That's the problem with the Jones'. They plug and play players based on contracts without any concerns whether or not the team improves. Sickening.

Perhaps Stephen will understand though. Perhaps Jerry will have moved on by the time the Eagles threaten our 5

Sounds like Zeke wants to take a pay cut, so that should help.

Yup, and, as sickening as this is for me to say as a Cowboys fan, I'm envious of their front office. I wish Jerry was as proactive as Roseman.

You are wishfully thinking an egotistical narcissist will have a self-discovery moment and be willing to bury that huge ego for the good of his franchise.

As Cowboys fans, we have to accept until death do us part and then it could get really bad.

Eagles are the best balanced team I've seen in years!! Nobody is stopping them
I hate to admit it, but they are one of the most balanced teams I've seen in years also.

That said, they haven't faced a real QB this season. I don't think it matters, but part of me wonders what would have happened to their defense if a legit QB could have started picking on their LBers with mismatches.

Yup, meanwhile, the Eagles are going to where we used to grace, and they have a top 10 draft pick next year to add to it.

That should have been the NFCC with them playing us......but we collapsed.

I think the Eagles are in trouble in the immediate future. That said, they've proven they can rebuild time and time again, so it doesn't matter.

If only Stephen understood that.

Brings up another point. Jerry hasn't gotten this team a Super Bowl victory this century. And he can't have that many years left on this Earth. He should enjoy his life and his millions while he still can! His legacy will be the 3 Super Bowl titles this team got in the 90s. He played that one well. He bought the team and hired Jimmy Johnson who knew what he was doing. Time to let go. Hire a GM who knows his stuff, and go enjoy a tropical island somewhere.

You know it Rusty.
Our Franchise's biggest weakness has been Jerry insisting on being GM, even though he himself admitted he should be fired.
This issue is really hurting us now that really competent GM's are blowing our doors off.

if the eagles win.
their owner will build another statue.
and whoever it is will be fired cut or traded within a year or 2...based on the last one.

Jerry is not changing

I fully expect Joneses to extend Dak to reduce his cap hit and be a little more active in FA but that will tie us to Fak for several more years

Im rooting for KC

I
As much as I don't want Philly to win another SB, I really don't care if they do. The Jones family deserves to have it happen to him. The way I'm so over blaming the players on these teams? How many more good players' careers are we going to waste? I thought last year's playoff loss was bad but this year's loss was worse and I as bad as the QB was, he's only a symptom of the illness with this organization. The cancer is right at the top.
I don't really think that Jerry cares if they win or not. Fans do but if he really cared about winning he would change.
