NE winters are a war that i'm losing. Fla is nice because the gulf waters get so warm, but the humidity gets extreme. Only been to SoCal twice, very nice if south of LA and close enough to the ocean breeze.

It is at least 10 years from now but I will.
I have a friend that retired down there last year and he loves it.

Mountain area's or beach area's that aren't very populated is probably the way to go, unless you wanna do some farming. When driving through NC on 95 it seems like a very boring place with all the flat land.
