actually in the russian deal, russia would have been getting $9B for doing most of the stealth plane manufacturing to india.
russians are so desperate for cash it is not funny.
india was really unhappy with stealth performance and the engine is way behind.
now india will either buy american f35 or chinese stealth plane.
f35 is lower risk and better stealth properties, but chinese may do joint development.
of course chinese plane is having engine trouble also, so india is better buying f35 if they are allowed to buy it...
