Rd1: This guy is ready day one. He's a freak of an athlete and he instantly restores the versatility that we have sorely missed on the offensive side of the ball in the backfield. How do you game plan for our offense now? Do you put 8 in the box and try to slow Zeke down? Dez goes nutso. Do you shade someone over or double Dez? Zeke shoves it down your throat in numerous ways. This pick alone will keep Romo upright and that makes me very happy. The buzz words have been echoed on numerous occasions since the Zeke pick and they are spot on. Drafting Zeke helps both the offense and defense. The number of offensive plays per game had gone up by 8-10 and the defense will be very thankful for that change.

Rd2: Everyone is curious about this pick but watch the tape! This guy can flat out fly sideline to sideline! He gets off blocks like butter on a hot knife. His versatility is beautiful. He's tenacious. His heart is ginormous. All roads point to superstar potential in my book and he should be afforded the usual 2-3 year rookie window to prove to us all that he deserves to be a Cowboy. This guy's has franchise player potential stenciled all over his forehead. You can't see it?

Rd3: Some defensive tackles aren't sexy. But they go to work and they love to disrupt the middle. That's what I see in this guy. A lunch pail talent that Marinelli will turn into a beast in the middle. We already know the strength is there. He squats 785. That's like squatting 2 and a half of me. Impressive to say the least. The real key here is the fact that we absolutely must get away from leaving our defensive guys (speaking mostly to the DLine) out there to dry. We have to get back to having a solid rotation that keeps guys fresh. This is a strong step in that direction.

This draft is going very well IMO. I'm seeing a visionary draft strategy that's focusing on fitting pieces together for the next several years vs instant gratification.

We need mojo and a positive environment also. Lets not forget the clouds hanging over us last year. Players in the NFL need to be in the zone mentally and physically. We were definitely mentally out of it last year with all the fan fare Hardy Hype and injuries; and then preseason losses to preserve our players that seemed to not work.

A good positive attitude goes a long way in sports.

I doesn't hurt to play your best and stay positive even when a loss may be at hand as miracle wins can happen in professional sports.

Get what your saying about Smith he is a stud pre injury....but this team really needed a starter at DE with that second pick IMO. No issues with Collins though. Looking at what is left is there really a good DE left who can make an impact?

Most of us aren't talking about it because we are still wondering how it will affect the team from a performance standpoint. Jerry coming out yesterday and stating that we no longer have any interest in Hardy will prove to be a huge morale/locker room boost for this team. We are drafting young leaders. Talented character guys. I'm very cool with that.

Panicking and trying to shore up our DE spot in the draft because we have a couple of young knuckleheads that need mentorship is not a good draft strategy. Jaylon is versatile. He can line up on the second level or rush the edge. I'm content with knowing we will see that next year.

Keep our defense off of the field and fresh. Zeke will help us restore that strategy.

I like it too (so far)!

We got a great RB, and a 3-tech which is crucial in our scheme. I'm 50/50 on Jaylon because the guys who went in that range seem to have plenty of warts of their own. Add two guys who can play a role this season with future starter potential in the 4th and I'm a happy camper. I think they will swing for the fences in the 6th with athletic guys I will have to google... Hopefully DBs and a 1-tech.

So watching NFL right now Randy Moss just reported Smith was their third choice behind Dodd and the other De selected right before boys. I can live with that.

It's kinda nice to still have 6 picks left!

Yea, being negative wont help at this point. Its not like we are going to give him back and redo the trade. Focusing on positive are essential and not lamenting on the pick of a player who has high spirits and a positive attitude. The NFL is just as mental as physical at times.

Almost anything can happen in the NFL.

This is the first time I've heard Zeke described as a freak athlete.

Well I have heard of Adrian Peterson as being a freak athlete cause of his build. Looking at heights and weights, Zeke is similar to Adrian. He could turn out to be a defense's worst nightmare and make games get out of hand putting a mental cloud over the other teams head.

He's not Adrian Peterson though. Not as quick, fast, or strong. He ran a slower 40 than Marshawn Lynch.

In my eyes from what I have seen, I classify him as a freak at the RB position. Others may view him differently but I haven't seen many young RBs that can truly do it all and do it exceptionally well. Gurley perhaps but that's pretty much it in recent years.

He has all the tools and can truly take over a game if you don't game plan for him behind that line.

Could he develop strength, speed and quickness as he matures with the team and maybe become similar? I'm not sure how Peterson was coming right out of college.
