I listen to all of them too, my feeling is it’s about 50-50. They blame the players more than the coaches. Even Nate Newton, who is big on the players, taking accountability, but admits you have to get rid of Coach Mac if you really want to shake things up and change the culture. You have no choice at this point.

The subject they won’t dare approach, even making jokes that it could get them fired when they make comments about it, is the GM stuff of course.
yeah he did say that but just watch over the next few days..he will walk that back. I know why.

Are they really backing him or do they just think McCarthy is staying because we have a dumb owner?

I've not heard much of anyone saying at this point that McCarthy is the right guy for the job moving forward.
I think they just know how much of an idiot the owner is in football decisions. His track record speaks for itself for 3 decades.

The true radio is much diferent than literally listening to podcast employed by Jerry...alot of radio hosts are on the make buig changes wagon...people employed by Jerry are going to say things he tells them to say if they want to keep thier job...

DQ has left the building. Left his sketchpad in his cubby hole.

His Point Style Defense has rested. According to counsel.

No, the podcasts are for big change too, I was thinking about writing up the summary of all of them and major talking points or best arguments. But I don’t know, I just need a little humor and levity. Sick of focusing on these bums who continually choke each year. Bottomline, Jerry is the constant. Seems like a great dude to talk annd drink bourbon with but can’t win to save his life without a HOF Coach trying to right the ship. Until we lose Al Davis, and maybe even his son, we may never see that legend again.

The official website/YT channel serves in some measure as the team's propaganda arm. As do some of the more popular commentators whose access to the Star is at the pleasure of its proprietor. There will always be certain subjects which must be treaded lightly.

I'd be quite surprised if both Dak and McCarthy aren't back next season to fulfill their contracts. Any divorce, amicable or not, is going to take some time & consideration of a lot of things.

One of the better things I heard today was people trying to explain what happened to DQ. Rationalize why he changed his defense up so much instead of going with what worked. Apparently there was talk that the injury was worse with Gilmore and he couldn’t handle the man on man. And that DQ really had no choice on some of his defense because of how limited depth was at linebacker with LVE and Overshown both hurt. Not playing a guy like Bell because they want to but because he truly is the only decent athlete left. The Diggs injury also didn’t help since they didn’t trust the depth at corner. Basically, the season and the temporary injures exposed our lack of depth at the back seven, Mazi being a bust and Big Hank being injury compounded run Stopping, and DQ tried to call what he could but there was no more answer. Any strong team could overcome that talent deficiency on defense. It was waiting to happen and teams like SF, Arizona, Buffalo showed what would eventually happen.

If MM were truly going to be fired, it should have happened by now. Jerry is holding him back from interviewing with another team. That tells me he will be back. Garrett’s contract ran out, different situation with Mike.

Isaiah tries to be objective at least. I like him.
Most of the ex-players do a pretty darn good job. I don’t care if it’s a company program, it’s more informative to watch than the national pregame shows, if you want substance on the Cowboys. Stanbach, Church and Nate. At first I wasn’t sold on Everson walls, but I’ve come to like his stuff too, especially since he pairs up with Mickey Spagnola, who I think is one of the better of the career reporters. I think they have too many podcasts though and to narrow it down to the best of the best.

I’m fine if they decide to move on from MM but I think many are down playing how hard it is to make sure you find a coach that’s definitely better. It’s always a roll of the dice hiring someone but McCarthy is a good coach, now he may just not be good enough to get us where we want but if you move on from him it has to be an established guy. It can’t be a lateral move. He’s 36-15 over the last 3 years even if the playoffs have been an utter failure.

It has to be a belichick or a harbaugh who at least on paper can excite the fan base and alleviate the risk that you hired a worse coach. I don’t want BB but there’s at least the allure of him being an all time great coach that I see the risk. I also think at some point the players need to own SOME of the blame. They are getting a real pass Imo.

That said I’m confident jerry will bring in new d coordinators and staff and let big Mike go into this thing in a prove it contract year.

Another good thing to listen to is the Show with ex-WR Isaiah Stanback. I thought he did a good job explaining what makes Dak choke on reading defenses. He is fully in CeeDee’s corner and understands why he gets so frustrated.
Yeah i heard that too. Said he saw nothing wrong with Ceedee’s routes.

And this is coming from an ex QB too

You get me an excellent defensive draft and bring in an all world defensive coordinator? I'd still want to throw up but it would come out easier if we kept McCarthy.

That’s true, I forgot about that, he was a quarterback. Definitely qualified enough to be an SME on the subject. That’s why I like those 3. Stanbach focuses on QB/WR, Nate on the Lines and running game, and Church on the DBs and LBs. Solid team of experts. If they were to add a former coach, might be cherry on top, but good to hear just the player perspective sometimes.

So this is one thing that it seemed like almost every show was universal on no matter if it was an ex player or media guy. I was actually a little surprised that almost everyone did not want Belichick and felt he was the wrong guy. No one seems to think he has the energy to do it anymore and a lot of debate on if he can handle modern players right. Going back to the OP original post I think one reason why so many of them are on the fence about Big Mac is because no one really has any good suggestions for a replacement. There was some out of the box stuff thrown out, like bringing in Pete Carroll as an advisor, but no one really viewed Harbaugh as a solid answer either.

I mean even Greg Olsen said this Sunday, 12-5 three years in a row is something a TON of franchises would love.

But all they have to show for it is one playoff win against an 8-9 Bucs team last year.

If all this regular season success gets us is what we saw against the Packers Sunday, what does it mean? I think the Cowboys will have to take a step back before they can go forward. It might mean some 7, 8, or 9 win seasons along the way but it's clear this current regime cannot get it done.

Read the tea leaves Jerry is going to run it back. Nothing is going to happen and Jerry will try to fool you again. Don't fall for the ruse. This is the lowest I have felt as a fan.
I don't blame McCarthy for our poor play. I blame Jerry/Stephen, Dak and Dan Quinn.
If the GM/owner and his kid did their jobs we'd have a real GM.
If Dan Quinn did his job he would have made sure the defense could stop the run.....and if he didn't have the players then it goes back to Jerry/Stephen.
Dak falls apart in almost every big game the Cowboys play. He needs to go.
